I heard on SportsCenter when I woke up at like 3:30 this morning that Roger would be opening a restuarant in Houston.

The Roger Clemens ROCKET Sports Grill

I was supposed to go to Houston last summer for a week, but medical issues arose and I had to have two surgeries. Hopefully I can make it this summer, and if I do I certainly intend on making it to the Memorial City Mall for a chance to eat at Roger's (who most of you probably know by now is one of my heroes) Restuarant.

Nothing important, just figured I would post it though. Feel free to move if it is in the wrong forum.

Sounds cool. My oldest son is moving out to Houston in a couple of weeks, maybe I'll make atrip out there after tax season and check it out.

Does this signal the Rocket's retirement?

I was thinking about this today, and i remember reading in the article that he plans on having an office there and plans to be a big part in the restuarant's operations. How could he do this any place other than Houston?? So my guess is that he will either be playing for the Astros next year or retire.

I wonder if the restaurants will display the game balls from all the big games Raaaaaaaja won in his career?

I hope not

Cuz there won't be many decorations

The menu:

Blister Burger

BBQ Pulled Groin Sandwich

Trick Hammy & Cheese

Ejection Parmagiano

Plus the clientele is guaranteed not to gain any weight because every meal is gutless, just like Old Blood & Guts.

I was told that almost the entire menu has food that makes you choke during high pressure situations .. such as:

date with Tera Patrick (or any hot porn star for that matter)

when you have only a small amount of time to eat (short lunch break)

when you're trying to beat your pals in an eating contest...

if you're just there to relax then I am sure the food doesn't make you choke a bit

I hear Rocket was there to cut the ribbon, but he was using a shattered bat to do so. When asked about it he said he thought it was a pair of scissors.

Thanks buddy

Over time, it will most likely become obvious to you that I'm not a big Clemens guy

I'll second that

I can't think of any big game he has WON but I'll give him a small amount of credit for pitching his ass of in game 7 of the 2001 WS.. even though the Yanks CHOKED that one away!

Hey man, you have no room to talk about chokes. The ratio of Red Sox chokes compared to Yankees chokes is ridiculous. You act like, that because you won a World Series more recently than we have, that you're top dog when it comes to winning. Red Sox fans, and many Red Sox fans at that, completely disregard the fact that they have choked countless times, and then they have the balls to criticize the Yankees for their chokes. If you could even call 2001 a choke, that was a hell of a series after being shut down in the first 2 games, winning the next 3 in dramatic, New York style fashion. A hell of a series and a hell of a game 7 that resulted in Mo making a bad throw that happened to cost us the series. What Mo had done for us in previous years at that point certainly made up for the bad throw in 2001. Get over yourselves.

You know whats funny about that? We do, because although we may have choked more than the Yankees ... it's always quality over quantity, and guess what? The Yankees choke in the ALCS will always been remembered as the biggest choke in sports history.
