Yeah, I'm loving it. I'm one for one. Now I'm going to see one of my best friends who hosts a block party. Every house is decorated to the max with decorations ( written -up several times in the local paper as the place to go for view and the best decorations on Cape Cod ), all the food you can eat, soups, munchies ( including fresh popcorn from a real machine ) seafood, meats ( including venison and elk ), campfires, singing, Mr. & Mrs Claus, and just about every thing else. Great time !!! Going to freeze my butt off and have a great time.

Wow, yeah the Pats are back, and look good. at the beginning of the game i didnt think it, but they have proved me wrong. So is anyone going to watch the other games today?

I disagree with you on the topic that the teams have put the Patriots out of their thoughts. All you hear these days from everybody is "until the Patriots are knocked out of the playoffs, they are the best team in the NFL" or the "team to beat." I think this only made teams even more scared in that the team they knew they couldn't count out (the Pats), just steam rolled a damn good and talented opponent. Granted, the Jets beat the Bucs too, but the Bucs have the second best defense in the league and we put up 28 on them. We also got our first shut out in 36 games, and the Bucs were blanked for the first time in 103 games; dating back to '99. Another awesome fact is the rushing yards where the Pats rushed for almost 200 yards more than the Bucs, 336 yards - 138 yards.

I do agree with you however, that the Pats are back and Peyton will be seeing one hell of a different team than he did in early November. The Pats are getting healthy at the right time, and suddenly, there is a huge amount of hope for the players and fans alike.

I must say Brady did better than I expected..I thought his leg would mes him up..but either hes too good, or the Bucs didn't know how to capitalize

Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL. I don't want to hear anything about Manning. Until Manning has 3 superbowl rings, and doesn't choke in a big game, I will always take Brady over Manning. Always.

Ill take a friend of mine who is a Pop-Warner QB and is like 14 over Brady. Thats how much I hate him and the Patriots  !

man, people always underestimate the Patriots. IMO the Buccaneers going into the game were ranked the 2nd best defense, which the Pats took to town. The front seven for the 2nd half of the season have become a brick wall to the run defense (100 rushing yards allowed the last 3 games). Even our secondar is starting to click (opponents last 3 games averaging under 175 passing yards a game). They are starting to gel on turnovers, a big bonus, and dont even get me started on the sacks now  Simms needs an excedrin after being sacked 7 times. They got serious momentum after ridiculing a playoff potential team like that. The Jets and Dolphins games should be a breeze. Primed to win the 1st round and then head down to Indy.

I don't think its underestimating when I say I thought his injury would effect him.. Underestimating is more like Patriots will only win by 3 cuz their no good. Almost 75% of QBs that got injured were effectd there after. Thoguh most had to miss the season, there MccNabb, Vick, Rothlessburger...ect.ect,(Guys like Pennington and Culpeper just got injured...and were out) I know the Patriots are good, I was just saying I thought his leg would effect his play some how

Don't forget that in the last 12 quarters the Pats defense has only given up 10 points. Not too bad for whats become a desperate and patched-up secondary. Colvin and McGinest, being the converted DE's that they are, really know how to get after the QB. That's one of the special aspects to this team. If Bill wanted to, he could put Colvin and McGinest on the D-Line for a few plays because they've been there before.

In short, it was great to see the Patriots of old come back and really take it to a great team with an incredibly solid defense.

No. Absolutely not. The last thing the Pats need is to stupidly rest players. They've got momentum in their hands now, and everyone's coming on strong. Don't crush the momentum by sitting them and then having them thrown into a playoff atmosphere as their first game back. Maybe in their final game against the Dolphins you can have them play half the game, but you can't take them out for the whole game.

I agree they should play to keep their rythm, but not playing the whole game to protect them from injuries is a prudent move at this point. The Broncos and Bengals pretty much need to lose-out for the Patriots to jump out of the #4 spot. Being healthy against the Jags is more important than beating the Jets or 'Phins right now.

Totally agree. Threat the next two games as tune ups. I want everyone healthy as possible, but in shape timing wise, which means game experience.

Man, what a shame, Jason Taylor has been talking smack aboiut the Jets for years on years, and the Dolphins are the only team who the Jets have consistently dominated year in-year out. So with all that I want top kill them.....it'll be hard...I believe it has been announced that both Sean Ellis and dwayne robertson will not play...so in all lickleyhood, we will have 15 players who started week 1 injured today...its a shame to look at.

But on the topic of picks.....I'mm gunna say what I think spread is....can someone tell me if I'm right?

Lets say the Dolphins are 7 point favorates over the Jets....and I pick the Jets(for the spread) that means that if the Jets lose by 6 or less, I win(7 is a tie)..So 17-13 Dolphins, 28-27 Dolphins....those kinda scores I win. If I chose the Dolphins...that means they would need to win the game by more the 7 points for me to get a point...so 28-10 fins..sumthing like that, then I'd et a point(if I picked them)...If I expect the Jets to win though...then I just pick the Jets??

Thats what I think it is...am I right?

Yep that's pretty much how the spread works. If the underdog wins by any amount of points and you picked them then you win.

For this site you get a win, if you were betting someplace else, you'd get the amount of your bet.

7-0 Chargers and they are driving again, over the Colts. So far 2 of the Colts starting lineman have gone down with injuries. Dungie can't like how this is beginning...

GO CHARGERS!

EDIT: 10-0 now on a Kaeding FG

That's correct. Its called playing/ splitting the spread. One of your teams is going to win. If you pick it right ( or are just lucky ) you win both. Good luck. BTW I'm hoping for the same thing !

Heres what I hope as of now.

Jets get a TD, and win 17-10

Colts get 2 TDs, and win 14-13

Vickings get 2 more FGs, Steelers win 10-9

San fran jacksonville to stay the same

Seattle to score 2 more TDs win 28-14

Arivonz to score a few more TDs

NO to score 2 more TDs

lol..that'd help me a lil

and those r the teams I want to win anyways

Goddamn Colts, I was really hoping to see them lose today even if I did pick them. The team that showed up in the 3rd quarter was not even close to the 1st half team. Dungy must have really worked some magic during halftime.

I'm 8-3, both spread and straight, going into the afternoon games. Nothing to sneeze at, but nothing to brag about either.

It's interesting that Houston won and SF lost. If both lose next week (Hou vs. Jax, SF @ StL) then the Bush Bowl will be played in SF the last week, with the loser winning .
