I won't miss him anymore after last year but he had a good year and that walkoff homer against the A's was nice so here is a tribute to kevin Millar.

God you guys are such tools to the media.

Millar had 2 great years for himself in Boston. Better than I even expected he could be when we got him.

Last year he stunk, but don't diminish what he did for the team before last year.

Dave Roberts wouldnt have been able to have the greatest stolen base if not for Millar battling Mo that got him a walk.

2005 just wasnt the year for him, its said there are several teams interested him but in platooning type roles.

Exactly. He was part of the championship team and he helped a lot in past years. And by a good year i mean not counting 2005.

Seriously its one thing to rip on him for 2005 but dont diminish what he meant to this team for the time he was here. He was huge for the clubhouse and thats what we need in boston with the media and fans. He was a decent hitter and honestly the best 1B we've had since Mo. I would take Millar circa 2003-2004 over what we're going to have next year at 1B.

It's more than Millar's on field abilities in 2004 and 2005 which made me dislike him. It's the fact that he was a very obnoxious man. Always trying to be the spokesman of the team. Never refusing to do an interview. It just got to the point where we saw his face too much and all he kept doing was talking and was never backing it up with production on the field. You guys name a few rare instances but you have to look at the big picture.

This is exactly why your argument holds no water.

It's what players do between the lines that matters and what they should be judged upon. That's it. Period.

Oh that's totally not true. Let's use the now infamous Terell Owens as an example. Would you take him on your team, with all the not talking to the quarterback, not taling to head coach, renogtaintion of the contract. It's not just what the player does on the field that matters.
