I wouldv'e rather have signe dhim over Huckaby or Flaherty, he's young and a bit of an upgrade over those two offensively, however I doubt he's ever seen a knuckleball.

Plus Olivo still has the potential to become a very good catcher throughout his career. Due to what we've seen the last 2 uears or so it is unlikely, but back when he was in Chicago he was very highly touted, and the Sox were relcutant to trade him in the Garcia deal.

Yea but that was on estart, give the guy a break. Nobody said he was going to be in the White SOx rotation or anything, just an insurance policy or something. Guy could get called up in May after numerous injuries to the rotation and be outstanding, who knows.

Im not surprised the Mets signed Bret Boone. I have been saying that they should since he got released by Seattle.

But updates are made.

i wonder how much boone has left in the tank. he will likely battle kaz to play second but should win out because kaz is awful. the mets desperately want to dump and might have to pay at least 5 million of the 7 million to get rid of him.

If Boone plays in Spring Training like he did last year he'll be starting out the year in Norfolk ...or even :o Binghamton

:(

Maybe Canseco wasnt lying about Boone in his book, and now that we had a somewhat legit testing policy last year that could be why he did so awful ...but I sure hope not, i've always liked Bret Boone. I hope he makes the Mets!

I've always believed that Boone was one of those infamous "infielders who suddenly hit 30 HRs" guys that people railed about when discussing the steroids issue

On a random note, Jeff Kent needs wrist surgery that will keep him out atleast 6 weeks

ROTOWORLD---

From what we understand, he's been having trouble washing his truck. "It's more precautionary than anything else," GM Ned Colletti said. "Throwing a baseball, he's got no problems. Swinging a bat, he's got no problems. He does have some discomfort when it's not baseball-related. The choice is to get it rectified as soon as possible." Unless he has a setback this spring, Kent's stock remains unchanged. Jan. 6 - 9:48 pm et

He needs to get his wrist fixed just so he can wash his truck??? Why doesnt he use 2 dollars out of his huge contract and bring his truck to a car wash or something.

wow...this one came out of nowhere. Why would the Brewers do this? I thought they were trying to go with that young infield of Bill Hall at 3rd, J.J. hardy at Short, Rickie Weeks at 2nd, and Prince Fielder at 1st :dunno

But yea, they should have been able to get some more than that for him

Maybe that's the way he trains, like in the karate kid. Wax on wax off.

Koskie was traded to the Brewers for....minor leauge pitcher Brian Wolfe.

I would have thought the Jays could have gotten a bit more for him.

Jeez I wouldve thought more of a common sense decision would be for Koskie to be the everyday 3rd baseman and Glaus to become the DH. Glaus' error prone is brought to Rogers Centre, turf fields are almost an invite for more errors to happen than usual. Plus they took out gold glover Hudson recently... Expect for for our teams playing against the Jays, to get some breaks when they hit a groundball
