Yeah, the hit and run brought the 2nd baseman closer to the bag, which made that a tailor made DP when the ball was hit up the middle.

if it is indeed a loss, i put all blame really on tito for not taking schilling out soon enough--i mean he was hit hard the first 6 innings and just got by barely on several occasions, and was at 100 pitches when he entered the 7th inning facing the top order for the blue jays who have +.400 batting avg's against curt

offense only had two great innings but that was it, they sucked against the bullpen

eh oh well

yeaaaa well with 5 games left we cant really be in an "eh oh well" attitude, its not early september anymore. you do realize this win couldve put the sox ahead of the yankees by a game if yanks lose? which means theres still a chance yanks could rally and we'd be back in 2nd place

Well it doesn't help to cry about it. In the scheme of things, you couldn't have really expected us to go 4-0 against the Blue Jays on this homestand, they unlike the Orioles are still playing hard. Yes we could have and should have won this game, but in the end our bullpen walked WAY too many batters, and we left Schilling in too long. Live, learn, forget, MOVE ON.

Arroyo against Lilly tomorrow

Clement against Downs Thursday

Best we can hope for is 3/4 at this point.

I have to agree with you.

When amateur Francona manages the game without Brad Mills help, expect bad moves like that.

I really don't know why Tito thought Bradford could go another inning by starting the 8th. He did his job by getting out of the 7th. It's frustrating to watch this bullpen. The first Blue Jay hitters in the 8th and 9th were WALKED and they SCORED. It seems the only hope is to get 7 innings out of the starters and then Papelbon and Timlin to close it out. Thankfully the O's have a little pride tonight.
