Yanks are about to win, 5-0, 1 out in the 9th. We should expect them to win at this point. We're hoping that they lose once and we really don't until we play them again.

You all rooting for Chi-sox or Cleveland in the central?

Cleveland, because the ChiSox are on a freefall, and if we need the wild card method of entering the playoffs, it would be easier to get by the ChiSox than the Guardians. Granted, the Guardians would be harder in the playoffs, but we gotta focus on getting in before we can worry about our schedule.

And Alex Cora is one hot producer right now, 3rd hit tonight.

Our playoff chances aside, I'm rooting for Cleveland. I'd love for Ken "Hawk" Harrelson to eat crow, and he's cooked up a big dish of it by front-running the White Sox all season.

However, it wouldn't hurt our chances at the postseason if Cleveland went on a cold streak.

There is no announcer I hate more then "Hawk". Between "He Gone" and "You can put it on the board yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss" I jusy want to rip his head off. He brings the term "homer" to another level

Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons I'm rooting for Cleveland too. That guy pissed me off so much and now I root against the white sox every time they're on here because of him. But is that the right thing to want? Given that we don't know what the sox will do, it seems most logical to just root against both teams, unless they're playing each other. When they play each other root for whoever is leading the central at the time.

Really, the sox just must win their games, one game at a time, yada yada.

He's been very good this year. Its funny because the other teams announcers are always really impressed with Papelbon. He's got overpowering stuff.
Posted
I say Papelbon setting up, Hansen setting up Papelbon, and Timlin (now in a much more limited role) closes when necessary. With a decent lead I say close with Hansen and keep Timlin ready if needed.

Timlin will pitch the 9th. The Yankees won. We need to win. Timlin's the closer. Tito won't even think of using a young guy.

ha, thats a great website. Who says things like "Duck snort" or "Get foul" when another team thats playing the White Sox hits one down the line? A classic is when something goes wrong for the White Sox all you hear is dead air. Was this guy even a White Sox when he played? I dont understand where this homerism comes from.

Timlin is warming up. A very Tito thing to do... go right back to the guy who let you down last time. Great for building team coherence and confidence, but I hope Timliin isn't feeling tired. On this radar gun he better be hitting 97-98.

That's funny! He totally does that. And sometimes you hear pathetic, sad sounds, or just someone saying "no! no! oh my..." in a quiet depressed way.

well yeah its just these yankee fans who think he will just bomb when there is pressure on. he's got such good stuff, i cant wait to see him as a regular starter

Imagine how good of a power pitcher he will be once his splitter gets consistent. It's looked really filthy at times already this year, and this is the first year he's thrown it. You know Curt will be working with him some in the offseason.
