well we werent getting anything from him really and I was very much expecting this, hopefully he can regain his 2004 self for the 2006 season. If not try to deal him in the trade months of July. I heard Foulke had this long meeting with Tito and Wallace in Tito's office, i knew something was up...

Foulkes been having a s***** season. I dont have confidence in him at all. It would be for the good of the team and his own future if he stops pitching for this year.

According to WEEI 850 in Boston, Keith Foulke is shutting it down for the season due to physical issues. WEEI reports he has also already left the team. The Red Sox may attempt to trade him this winter, although his value is so diminshed at this point that it probably wouldn't be worth it. Foulke is certainly capable of bouncing back, but he needs to get his knee issues taken care of once and for all.

Foulke wasn't valuable this year at all. If it puts Hansen on the mound when Foulke would have been on the mound earlier then I'm all for it.

It's a shame. If he was healthy, the Sox might have clinched the division by now. With his salary and health, I can't see a trade happening. Let's just hope he gets better by spring.

Well maybe not clinched the division, but I don't think we would be in second right now.

It really doen't matter about would have could have, Foulke didn't produce and couldn't come back. This doesn't mean that I've written him off, but taking a roster spot without production is contrary to our needs ( as well as his ) right now. I hope he comes back next year, but I'm more concerned with the present.

Well, this is all mainly due to his 2 bad knees. He had surgery earlier this year on one of them, and then his mechanics went out of wack. he should surgery on his other knee so he can get to ST healthy and ready to go. Personally i think he shouldve sat out a long time ago. that way he could strengthen his knees this offseason and work on mechanics in ST.
