actually the announcers Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy are great guys, funny s***, very informative of the game, I hope they stay on board for a long time, and most especially when I watch homeruns I dont have to hear they say something like "Seeee Yaaa" . Pre-Game reports are great to watch as well with NESN analysts and reporters Tom Caron, Eric Frede, the hot Hazel Mae, former Angels player Gary DiSarcina, Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley and Jim Rice, even former Red Sox player Dave McCarty will get some more time on the pre games in the near future. Never once will I roll my eyes in disgust or anything

(1) Its a f***ing station owned by the Red Sox (2) Ive watched YES before and all they do is hype up Yankees, announcers sound so down when the other team hits a homerun, "that ball is hooking foul, foul, foul, seeee ya a 2 run shot for jorge cantu"

Ive already had this debate before so im not trying to start a big thing, but i will take any combination of the Yes broadcast crew over the NESN crew. ANYDAY Remy is so annoying and Orsillo isnt much of a pbp guy

 

thats why Remy just recently won an award for sports announcer of the year

Well sometimes when I watch the YES Network, Michael Kay gets into it even if like the D-Rays were to have a game winning hit, he'll get into it just the same as if it was the Yankees. And one time I was watching a Yankees/Red Sox game on ESPN, and with no lie, the Red Sox had a 1-2-3 inning(offensivly), and Joe Buck said "This Just in............THAT WAS A 1-2-3 INNING!!!!!!!!!", And then The Yankees had one like 1 inning later and he said apsolutly nothing, so other than him, theres pretty ok, I just don't like games on FOX for that reason.

our best prospect is Duncan. Our best pitching prospect is Hughes, only reason I pick him over Wang is that Wang is in the bigs and has been 90% of the year

A) Jim Rice sint a Hall of Famer.

B ) There is no denying that Hazel Mae is hot..shes the only reason I watch NESN SportsDesk

C) If Michael Kay says its a ball hooking foul, foul, foul, etc...thats because it is. Its not like hes lying. Its not like he says that about a shot to dead-center. Please that was ridiculous.

D) I didnt say that Remy was a bad anaylyst, I just said I find him annoying at times. Congrats to him for winning the award.

Eric Duncan is playing AA ball for god's sake. This is only his second full year of pro ball. If you wanna call him Russ Branyan, who is a major leaguer, fine by me. And its not my opinion that he is the #1 prospect, thats the Baseball America ranking. So dont get on me for saying that.

(1)That doesn't make them 'informative', and just because you "Never roll my eyes in disgust" doesn't mean they're good. It just means you agree with their opinion, which is most likely biased towards the Red Sox. Of course you aren't going to be disgusted with them giving hope for Boston.

 

(2) The announcers are pretty good in calling homeruns, compared to other stations anyway. A homer in a big spot, for either team ellicits a big response from the announcer. When Perez hit the homer off Rivera a couple of weeks ago, Kay got really loud.

 

Oh, and Aaron Boone's homer on the Red Sox radio station. Swing and a long drive to left, if it is fair it's gone, and it is gone the New York Yankees have won the pennant. In the most monotonous voice there is.

 

 

Here's a general rule. IF IT IS A HOME TOWN STATION, THEY ARE BIASED TOWARDS THAT TEAM.

I like YES, it's usually on my TV when nothing else is on. I'm addicted to the Road Trip show, some of the Yankeeographies I really enjoy, and I like "Tales of Triumph" (though they rarely show those.) The only Center Stage episode I really liked was the Yogi Berra one. And, of course, I always enjoy watching whatever Yankees Classic they're playing.
