and have held onto the lead since late june (1 day Yankees had the 1/2 game lead). By end of August it was down to just 1.5 game lead for the Sox. I mean really, 20 games left and there would just have to be a collapse for the Sox and such. Sox faces the Blue Jays the same time Yanks face off the Devil Rays, hard to see Yankees can make up ground this week

Yeah, because you guys have owned Toronto...

Well see I meant that because even if Sox lose against the Blue Jays, the yanks would lose the same day against the D-Rays. Hence they wont gain any f***ing ground

If you are going to be confident you will hold a lead, you have to be confident you'll win. If you don't like your chances against Toronto, then you can't be depending upon Tampa to keep your lead. I think what you meant to say was 'even if we don't do well against Toronto, I don't expect the Yankees to beat Tampa Bay.' That is a non-controversial, easy way to put it.

Can someone give me the link to a site where I can find out the hitter's numbers against an individual pitcher?

yahoo! mlb sports is a good place to go there for info, I go there a lot for updated stats. go to any pitcher's profile, then click on batter vs pitcher, then on next page click on since 1987

Damn these Yankee fans get pretty ballsy after a win. Where were all of you guys yesturday when your team was getting destroyed?

BTW Toronto is just a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit better than Tampa Bay.

losing to tampa is worse than losing to toronto, you have to be blind not to see that

That is not the point, the point is you have struggled against Toronto, and that's who you are playing this week. They were making the argument that the lead would be held during the week. Therefore, this week's opponent is all that is important.

And Toronto being better than Tampa is true. Which means that this week the Yankees have the advantage, because they are facing the easier team. Thanks for making my argument.

Are you really that dense, or am I going to have to spell out every single one of my posts?

you are the dense one if you think yanks will sweep the d-rays

It depends what prespective your looking at it from, for the yankees the drays are the "hardest" team, and for the red sox they're the "easiest"

First of all this is the first post you had to "spell out", and I don't see where exactly you did that.

Maybe I need to spell out my posts for you. Your original post did nothing but further s*** talking on the Red Sox. You said that we've had trouble with Toronto, and all I was saying is that you've had trouble with a team much much worse. So basically what I was talking about goes back to that old saying people like to use on here ... people in glass houses ...

the fact is that our pitching is a hell of a lot better than it was the last time we faced toronto.

the fact is that the yankees just played tampa and couldn't beat them and definitely won't beat them in their house if they couldn't beat them at yankee stadium.

Todays game was not a big deal at all. In fact, I'm really impressed with the sox pitching recently, especially the starters. Wells had a typical bad-wells start, which happens sometimes. However, The rest of the starters have pitched very well the last few games. The yanks were lucky to squeek out a win today.

Also, has Steinbrenner sold a portion of the Yankees to Wakefield, cause he seems to OWN them.
