off the subject i know, but i was ecstatic to hear Clemens led the Astros to a 3-1 win (1.87 ERA, 185 Ks)--tomorrow they will play the Cubs to secure the wild card, Philadelphia plays the Nationals---a tie breaker game will be played monday in philadephia if needs be--be great to see him end his career with a cy young type season and make it to the world series

haha, you spankee fans are so funny, you win 1 game and get all psyched. Our hitting is superior to yours and We have an easy schedule and we have our longest home stand of the season starting after our series at KC! Good luck with the 'Big Bust" and his 4.646346394 ERA.

I'll give wright 2 more weeks before he gets injured again. leiter is going for you today....automatic loss.

and if I recall you have another series vs KC (0-3) and TAMPA BAY like 7 more times!!!!!!! LOL

Good call.

Hmm, if Johnson ever steps up I think we can take the east. He did, we did. I'm smarter than I look.

Just read the whole thread Mr. Shilling and you'll know

what I mean by we got the last laugh. And "Again" goes without

saying......there was a question asked and the answer didn't include

the red sox....I found that weird, personally. When the thread was

started we were (I believe) 2 1/2 games out of first place. How could

anyone think that there was no way we could come back and take

the American League East? There was a lot of very confident fans

believing it was all over. When I pointed out it wasn't, you all made it

like I was nuts to even fathom that the Yankees would take it. Well my

prediction came true. Remember your humble beginnings cause we

will always be the thorn in your side --- as you are to us.

And don't worry about what we're doing with the Angels....just

worry about yourselves cause you haven't clinched anthing yet!!!

Especially against the Sox.

I was thinking the same thing last year, the only thing that would have made blowing the pennant last year REMOTELY worth it would have been to see Pedro vs Clemens, game 7, Fenway Park. Although I have always rooted for the Cardinals (Ozzie Smith is my all-time favorite player outside of the Yankees) I was disappointed when they won game 7 last year.

Don't even waste your breath. This yanksfantoo guy, yankees13, yanks, redsoxpoop...

They're all here simply because of today, and no other reason, only to see our reactions to them winning the division, and won't be consistent posters. So, therefore, don't take into account ANYTHING that they have to say :)

They'll all be back on the Bowery lying in a pool of their own piss the day after the Yanks get eliminated in the playoffs.

Let's put this way, I'd rather see the Yanks vs Astro's ( if the Sox can't make ). It'll make for a lot more drama. Former players against former team ( Clemens , Petite ) and I wouldn't mind seeing Bernie and Tino go out in style ( both classy guys ). But I'd still rather see the Sox.

Okay, I'll leave.. I don't want any animosity.

I do think that Boston should get the wild card. Torre is resting a lot of players tomorrow to prepare for LA with disreguard of home field advantage. As you well know, we are banged up too...

just as I would rather see Sox vs 'Stros if the Yankees dont make it.

looks like the sox will still have the last laugh since by nyy clinching division, they have the honor of getting owned by the angels who only seem to have problems matching up with boston and tampa (who doesn't?). i wouldn't be suprised if there was a repeat of '02 when the angels ran right over the chokees and thereby inserted torre's foot into said mouth when he said that the better team lost to the eventual WS champs. face it, minus a-rod, that yankee team was head and shoulders superior than this '05 squad. i can't wait!

First of all I'm not a guy. And second of all I posted back a while ago -- I think it was August. I've lurked around on these boards just reading out of respect to you all. I respect your ball club, always have -- been a Yankee fan since the 70's. Boston has always been the team that has given us the hardest time. The players in the 70's were always some of the best - Fisk, Rice, Scott, Yas.

But when I read this thread I was in disbelief. Couldn't believe that a one time world series win in 86 years would bring you all to the space where you thought that the Yankees didn't have a chance to catch up. After all the history of these two teams it was very mystifying to me.

My team has performed miracles in the past (as far as I'm concerned). It has happened over and over again where we are down and we come back. This is factual, not some kind of illusion. Take 2001 World Series. We managed to get the Diamondbacks to the 7th game. Look at the way we were hitting. We were practically shut down. If it weren't for Mo's (very unusual) blow... we would be at 27 right now.

So I'm very sorry if I hurt any of you. Not my intention really. Just saying I told you so...probably not the right thing to do, but hey -- you'd probably do the same -- it's a rivalry after all.

By the way -- except for the fact that he doesn't field, I think Big Papi deserves the MVP. I know A-rod is great, but in my opinion he is lacking something. Not in his athletic ability, but in his heart. I don't think of him as the Yankess of the present. He would have fit in much better with the arrogant Yankees of the 70's.

What you have said is true. The excitement of last year's win gave hope to maybe things have changed ( which I still believe they have ) for the Sox. This coupled with the recent success of the Patriots gave rise to the belief that there has been a shift in power. All true fans hope and expect that their teams will improve and perserve. Obviously telling anyone after a disappointing outcome, " I told you so ", isn't going to generate a positive response. This especially true when it appeared that the comment came from someone that just comes to gloat and harass. It seems , however, you are not one of these posters. We have a good number of NY fans that are excellent posters, contibuting good information and perspective. There are also a large number of NY fans ( or they say they are ) that psot solely to disrupt, insult , and gloat.

I expect the Sox to make the play-offs as the Wild Card. Furthermore, I'm rooting on the Sox and the Yanks to meet in the AL Championship. I encourage you to continue to post on a more frequent basis, as I sounds as if you have alot you could contribute.
