Ocab Ks! Here comes Erstad.

Anyone know what Curt's hitting on the radar?

Consistently 91-93 with the hard FB, mid-80's with the split.

best pitcher: draw between clement and schil who had their best quality starts in some time, clement deserved that win

dishonorable mention: timlin who has allowed 4 hits in last 2 innings pitched, 3 runs

best defense: all around the board with cora diving for a fly ball, mueller, sliding for a foul, and 2 great turned double plays

offense should have been better than what it was, 16 men left on thru the 10 innings--but yes 70-50 record now

The split was ok, but he got ahead in counts and showed a decent slider. Signs of the Curt of last year.

Hopefully, he'll keep improving. The Curt of last year would go a long way towards a repeat.

We're only 4.5 back of the #1 overall spot in the AL.

dishonorable mention: timlin/renteria at the plate

best defense: tough call mueller/cora/renteria, cora/renteria had some great DP's

best offense: damon/manny (his gw rbi)

Agreed. I'm most encouraged by the velocity. To get the splitter to work you have to throw it hard. When he was missing his velocity (88-90 against Chicago and Detroit) the splitter wasn't diving enough and staying around the knees. You could tell that was on his mind because he bounced a few there tonight. But with the velocity will come the nasty splitter.
