I'm watching nesn right now (red sox-chi sox) and they are talking about how CHI measures up to Red sox, blah blah...At one point one of their guys said since the whitesox will be in the postseason they will need to measure up to red sox, angels, A's in regular season because they'll meet them in the postseason...As if we don't exist or they are 100% sure the Yankees will not make the postseason..How arrogant can they be??!

we're 5 games back & their team is hitting like madmen, while ours has been battling yearlong pitching issues and has not been quite as clutch with the bats as they have.

Realistically they have no reason to be talking about us as if we're in the postseason. I wouldnt if the situation was reversed.

this is terrible...we cant hit their 3,4,5 pitchers...but the sox can KILL their fvckin 1 and 2 pitchers...i thought garland was good??!! buerlhe?!!(cant spell his g.ay name) they're fvckin CHOKERS. do the redsox ever lose??? we just won 3 in a row and gained absolutely NO GROUND on them..they were supposed to lose the first 2 games in the chisox series!!!!!!!!!! THIS MUST STOP.

someone feelin the pressure?

They remain very envious of the Yankees. Any time the Yankees are down, they spend alot of time talking about them. When the Yanks are ahead, seldom a peep. One thing that is amazing is how their announcers, media, fans, etc., after 86 years of futility, are suddenly the preeminent geniuses because they one ONCE.

um hmm maybe because they are in the same division and only team that stands a chance of catching up with them. Yankee fans in denial, love it

when the Yanks took a half game lead in the AL East, ESPN interviewed the Boston Globe writer who proclaimed the AL East race a Boston blow out 2 months earlier

believe me, when the Yankees do well, they get their due

for now, the A's Angels and Red Sox all have a better chance to make the playoffs

until they start losing, there's nothing else to say

Their arrogance is amazing from top to bottom. They really believe the yankees are done. We shall see. You win once in 920 years and you become experts.

I do not know how the Red Sox are rattling off this winning streak. Their pitching is as shaky or worse than the Yankees.

Their offense is carrying them now. I am skeptical that a team can continue to win if their pitching does not improve. If they continue their winning streak, their pitching will have to step up soon because the offense can not remain this hot forever. If their pitching remains as it is right now, the Yankees will have an opportunity.

I think the Yankees will have an opportunity, but I do not know if they are going to take advantage of it.

He didn't even get to play that much in KC as they wanted to play kids, now he is pretty much the starting secondbase man for the world champs.

How long before Mark Bellhorn is DFA

you know, their pitching is NOT good at all...they score just enough runs to win. (excluding the 16-7 win over TX but then again they scored 9 runs or so in the 7 and 8 innings)

They have one of the worse bullpen ERA's. Its just amazing how they hit great pitching whereas the Yanks can't..Showed with CHI series...BOS is hitting everyone...he11, if they bring in Nolan Ryan and CY Young they'd hit them too...

No wins by a starting pitcher in 13 games?

Doesn't sound like a good formula for a Little League World Series.

Mike Mussina, soft flower that he is, has lost it.

Era of 5.34, hitters teeing off at over .300 against him, he's done.

Much like David Cone, solid all star pitcher in his mid 30's, he has lost it.

Kevin Brown is washed up, gets injured, and last week when we needed him to win a big game choked like a somebody who can't pitch in this town in big games.

The Yankees need to make several changes to this rotation to restore it to it's glory of having 4 ace starters.

There's not much on the free agent market besides Pedro Martinez, and you can forget about trades with our farm system.

Carl Pavano? He was medicore his whole career until finally having a breakout season with his pitching coach in his contract season.

Matt Clement? He's a number 4, inconsistent, can you say Loaiza like?

The only number ace, the only kind of pitcher we need in order to have a halfway decent World Series rotation is Pedro Martinez.

He has a great record this year, has the highest % of quality starts, his era, strikouts, all his stats including innings are outstanding.

He unlike our so called ace Brownie he has pitched 7 innings consistently this season.

Beggers can't be choosers.

We have no pitching, we need it.

This isn't about hurting the Red Sox or the novelty of taking another great player from them, it's about winning.

I care about winning with the Yankees, that's all.

I don't care about what Pedro Martinez did, if he can help restore this rotation if he can help us win a World Series, take him.

If Pedro Martinez were on our team this year he'd easily be our best starter.

I say as long as Pedro Martinez doesn't do anything totally out of line to the Yankees the rest of the seasom, go out and try and sign him.

He was a jerkoff last season, but beggers can't be choosers.

Who else is going to pitch like an ace for us next season?

Mussina?

Yeah right.

This isn't about making the Red Sox angry.

I don't think signing players for that purpose is smart, this is about getting an ace that we need with few available.

I would say go sign Pedro Martinez after this season as long as he doesn't do anything out of line to the Yankees between now and then and the price is right.

The real problem with Pedro Martinez is that he won't come cheap, he is going to cost a lot. I don't think Pedro Martinez will sign a 3 year 30 million deal, he is going to want to come to the Yankees for near 5 years 60 million at minimum.

I don't think that's a good move because rarely will a pitcher live up to his end of the deal long term.

Look at Mussina.

We got 3 good years out of him and now our stuck with a horrible pitcher contributing nothing but bullpen overuse and bad starts for another year.

Or Kevin Brown.

He has another year left of injuries and hasn't fulfilled his contract as hoped when he signed.

I don't want another Mussina 2 or 4 years from now screwing up this whole team with washed up performances.

If it comes down to it, give him 3 years sasmuch as we can afford because we need him, but don't get another Mussina deal we'll all painfully endure in his later contract season.

You snorting crack? Everybody with a brain knows that the greatest MLB Stadium is the Holy site of Yankee Stadium! You go anywhere in* the world, everybody know's of the Legendary New York Yankees Stadium, but, not many ever heard of Fenway. In fact, most ask, what a Fenway, I reply, oh, about three pounds

That just stinks of MLB's favoritism of the Redsox. If the Yankees were in the same boat, they would've been made to play no matter what time the rain would end! Again, it's discrimination against the Yankees!
