Nobody ever talks about the potential ownage this offense could do to a pitching staff.

.816, .803, .858, .881, .881, .813, .902, .745

Now if they realized that Russell Branyan is Adam Dunn with a little less power, and put him in the lineup, and moved Hall in at SS, those are the OPS' of their first eight hitters. Talk about consistancy, and bang for your buck. The Brewers are ranked 12th in the majors, and have a payroll of only 35 million. It just proves how dominant GM Doug Melvin is, no one else has came close to his scrap heap sightings (Doug Davis, Victor Santos, Derek Turnbow, Dan Kolb, Russ Branyan,) I'm going out on a limb, and saying that not only will the Brewers win the wild card next year, but their going to do it this year.

This year? Hmm... they're 5.5 back of the red hot Astros. I'm not sure if I'm willing to go out on that limb with you -- but I can see them taking it next year.

I really thought they were gonna finish 3rd in the division this year. I think they've done a really nice job of putting some talent together, and maybe if they can add a few pieces in the off season they can really take a huge step forward. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this team is a serious part of the playoff hunt next year.

No one is taking the WC from the 'Stros this year, next year assuming they go out and get a pitcher, they can get a playoff spot.

I really wish the stros had gone out and got a bat at the deadline. They have the best pitching staff in baseball. Clemens, Oswalt, Pettite, and then Lidge closing the door. I guess without the bat they still have a very good chance.

I've probably seen Biggio and Bagwell, live, more times than I've seen anyone else. I grew up watching them, and although I hated them for a while, I really want to see them get a championship, and I think this will be Bagwell's last year ... if he even comes back. Biggio may play forever.
