hey boston shouldn't trade manny! he's got 92 RBIs and 28 homers! put up with some lip for that! he hasn't been underacheving like some players have...Edgar R comes to mind... 40 million $...TRADE HIM!

here's what the sox should do.... Get the Devil Rays.... trade edgar, tony graffinto, maybe 1 good prospect, and a middle reveiler for- Jorge Cantu- 2B/3B- 15 homers, 65+ RBIs, and .301 BA, Julio Lugo- SS- >.306 BA, 32 SBs- Danny Baez- 5-3, 21 Saves, 2 under ERA! thats good.... and maybe for another prospect... try to get Scott Kazmir- 6-7, 106 K, and he's in his 2nd year.... But don't worry bout it if you don't- thats the real trade- solidify the middle and end of your line up and boslter the pen! Holla bac at jimmycarter05@yahoo.com B)

Sorry bro but theres no way we're trading Rents. So many people have been bashing him this year, and he really doesn't deserve it. Plus tradining our only SS and our best 2B makes little to no sense. We don't have middle relievers to spend. Why would the Drays trade their best player(cantu)? No way we're getting Baez for a reliever and a prospect.

Look the Drays suck but that doesn't mean they're gonna trade their 3 best players.

every body wants us to get a closer now, what about Foulke, he would have to be given another chance when healthy, i mean the guy was dominant last year. Say we got Wagner where would Foulke go when he came back?

The DRays do what they do with young talent because they won't spend money. Not all prospects pan out. So for them to have any success, they have to be very stingy in the trade market. And they are. There is no way we get Cantu, Lugo, Baez, and maybe even Kazmir for Rent, Graff, and some prospects. They won't take on the contracts, and they will want most of our 'A' prospects for that group. It just won't be worth the trouble.

I'm in favor of patience over winning this year when it comes to trading our top prospects. We have 3, yes THREE, potential front of the rotation pitching prospects. In two years our rotation could be Papelbon, Lester, Sanchez, Clement, and someone else with Delcarmen doing setup work and Hansen closing games.

Hansen will most likely be closing games next year. Foulke just can't match his stuff.

what do you mean he doesn't deserve it! he's batting .272 when he batted .290 last year and .330 the year before that! he's a gold glover and he's made 20+ errors this year! the year he hit .330 he also had 30+ SBs and 100 RBIs... he's not producing what he should and that's why he should go... mark bellhorn isn't better than Tony G...but he came up big in the post season and that's why i pick Tony G to get traded....and Cantu isn't their best player.... huff is......look at his stats...

Who is this Hansen ive never heard of him

We drafted him out of St. John's this year. He fell in the draft to us because teams skipped on him due to the fact that he was perceived as a tough sign. He was a tough sign for us, but we did sign him recently, because he was the most MLB ready prospect in the draft.

He was St. John's closer. Think mid-90's FB with excellent control and a devastating slider.

Did you expect him to come in and be GOD? You do realize he changed leagues and it takes time to get used to seeing a different pitcher every night that you've never seen before. Another example of RSN jumping on the back of a player that doesn't deserve it. Can't we just be happy that we're in first place ... can't we ever be happy?

Cantu
G	AB	R	H	2B	3B	HR	RBI	TB	BB	SO	SB	CS	OBP	SLG	AVG
2005	95	374	46	109	25	1	15	64	181	11	51	1	0	.319	.484	.291

Huff
G	AB	R	H	2B	3B	HR	RBI	TB	BB	SO	SB	CS	OBP	SLG	AVG
2005	99	367	44	99	17	2	13	63	159	31	62	8	4	.330	.433	.270

Guess what? I looked at the numbers. Guess who the better player is this year?

If you're plan was to come on here and ruin your credibility in 4 posts ... mission accomplished

Are the sox planning to use Manny Delcarmen this year, because he looked pretty good in his one outting

He's still on the 25-man roster as of right now. I'd like to see him get some more innings.

tampa will not trade cantu whos 23 and going to be one of their best players for the next couple of years. there not going to trade kazmir(whos only 22) also. they are looking to get younger not trade their young guys for expensive guys in there 30's.

So you want to keep the lesser player because he played good for 3 games?

That makes about as much sense as getting on Mannys back about missing a game in July.

I've already said this several times. I don't care if he misses a game and Tito's hunky-dorie with it. But when Tito asks him to play because he feels the team is in a pinch and Manny says "no". I've got to question his loyalty to the team (even if I'm willing to accept it, I've got to question it).

Do you think Manny is the only player in history to take his designated day off? I'm sure this has happened a million times before. This is only a big story because it's Manny, and its a day after he asked to be traded again. If he didn't ask to be traded again do you think we'd even be talking about this? I mean we won the god damn game.

No, I don't think this is the first time. Yes, I think the trade request added fuel to the fire.

I'm willing to accept "Manny being Manny" because you can just about pencil in .300/40+/130+ every year.

That doesn't mean I have to like it when he turns his back on the team (even if it is against the Rays in the middle of July and we win anyway). I was at the game where Matt and Trot went down. It was the type of game that a team can really build some momentum on, and luckily, despite all the media mess, they appear to be doing that. But Manny's actions could very well have destroyed that momentum before it got started.

hey mchammer, i meant these stats!

hits 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS BA

754 148 8 111 392 205 361 20 12 .291

those are aubery huff's career stats! a .291 BA, 111 homers, 754 hits in 6 seasons and on top of that he's hit 2 grand slams in a week, so my creditibility is perfect :harhar:

Geez, this is getting old fast. Every network I turn it on, this is being discussed. I turn on the Rangers game in Toronto and they are discussing Manny, I turn it on the Yankee game and they discuss Manny, I turn it on SportsCenter and they are talking about Manny.... it's pathetic, this deal won't happen.

Obviously a trade will be made or they would've killed it by now. Everyone wants Manny gone.

Speak for yourself. :o

haha, hardly likely Tony G is gonna get traded, Sox need a player of his caliber on the bench

According to a caller on WEEI that for sure has fantastic sources says the deal is far from dead and is very well alive. The media maybe reporting this wrong... this isn't over until 4 PM tomorrow.

What are you smoking? The Sox trading Tony G with his 300 avg to put Bellhorn back in would only happen in hell.

I don't want him to go!! Ort doesn't! ^ :(
