I hate this stupid ass saying. It's just Gordon and Rivera, Sturtze's ERA is over 4, he's a decent reliever, but not a savior.

 

As for "F-Rod", he's more apt to slip in the shower (cause of injury) then to throw strikes.

The Yankees need help everywhere, and Chacon, Leiter, and Nomo aren't going to get it done.

 

The Red Sox are better at every part of the game, defense, offense, pitching. Your only advantedge is the closer, and Rivera can't pitch 9 innings every day.

Yeah, well I think it's a Michael Kay case of coining a cheesy term, but while they're not the "Nasty Boys" - they'll do. Must you pick on every facet of this organization? I think I answered my own question.

 

No Yankee fan is expecting any acquisition to be "the savior" of this team - at this point it's touch-and-go, do the little things to keep the team in the ball game, and "trust" that the rest of the team will do their parts.

 

Considering all the flak this team has gotten, I'll just say that everything could've blown up a whole lot sooner, and right now they're still in the race for the division, for the WC (which I'm not counting on this point).

 

The AL East is full of questions here; it's not like the Yankees are playing in the Central.

I just think its funny that 26 to 6 has to resort to something that was said in regards to 1946 in order to make the sox look bad in his signature. In any case, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

it happened in 1946, he said the quote later...i just found it as a perfect example of the why the Red Sox were losers for so long. How can you not be alert in game 7 of the world series in the 9th inning??
