I'm almost positive the Sox are going to shell out some serious money to keep him in a Red Sox uniform, but who knows we'll all just have to wait and see.

i think it would be good for the Sox to keep Damon.,..but at the same tme maybe it wouldnt be...if he doesnt stay in boston,.then there is more oppurtunities for hanley

I wouldn't put it past his wife wanting to be in a larger media market. Steinbrenner would love to get him off the Sox, needs a new CF and doesn't mind shelling out big bucks. I don't rule this out.

I don't understand why you Yankee fans would want another aging player nearing the end of his career ... who is going to want a big contract. Don't you understand this is what got you guys in the position you're in now.

 

Anyway, Johnny isn't going anywhere until the season is over. Theo knows that Johnny is going to have to be on this team if we have any hope of repeating. Now after the season Theo might let Johnny go if theres a younger option at CF, maybe someone from the farm impresses him enough, or the fish let pierre go, or hey how bout Matsui if the Yanks don't pay him? I love Johnny but I don't want to see us in the same position as the Yanks are with Bernie. I know there's a difference in age, but you never know when a guys legs are gonna go. I'd rather be safe, and maybe a little worse, than sorry, and a lot worse. I'm kind of scared that Johnny will leave and put up another monster year next year, but I think it'll be better for the team in the long run.
