good to get a win of course tonight, and then sox can attempt a sweep of next team tampa bay which will be visting for 3 game series from monday thru wednesday. that will be happening while yankees travel to texas to play the rangers

this should be a good game today, although wakefield usually owns the yankees if i'm not mistaken... yankees have a rougher schedule right off the bat but it eases up a little bit later on (can't count TB out against us either this year).

i checked tim wakefield's career stats against the yankees, must say i am impressed cuz its against the yankees he does have an 8-9 record with an ERA of just 2.89

We definitely need this game. I can live with a split and the pitching matchup is definitely in our favor. Wake's knuckleball has been dancing lately

As much as I would like to win this game and take 3 out of 4, the overwhelming factor is that Leiter is a huge unknown. The important part is that they won yesterday, because considering the pitchers that were starting this series a split was what I had in mind. Should be fun, I hope Leiter has the guts to challenge the Red Sox hitters instead of trying to live on the corners. Walks have killed Leiter this year. He has got to limit those.
