If it's faith, I have it in Timlin and Foulke (believe it or not). After that, it's Mantia.

I'll put Halama in the middle with Myers and Embree at the end.

Ask me about Arroyo if the time comes and I'll put him up there near the top.

I can see why people are upset with Foulke. But really, it's not been as bad as people think. Look at today - bloop infield single, intentional walk, unintentional walk, and in the end he gives up a run to a great hitting team after the bases were loaded with no outs. He hasn't pitched since Sunday. He's still got the goods, he just needs a groove.

Give Foulke, Renteria and Millar some time for God's sake. The division isn't won in the first half of the season. ;)

Anyone else understand this?

I'd ave to say Foulke and Timlin. I like Myers also, but Timlin and Foulke for me. Foulke might not be doing his great damage but hes not doing so bad now.

i think foulke is a real concern. He has lost his groove and doesnt appear to be imrpoving. He never seems to put too many strong games together and almost lost it again today.

The season isnt won in the first half it is won ion both the first and the second, and I dont think patience is a solution I think Mantei is.

As for millar the solution is olerud. As for bellhorn I suppose the solution is we have a horrible second basemen who occasionally doesnt strike out.

As for embree the solution is dont use him EVER.

Yes as a matter of fact I do

2000- 34 Saves

2001- 42 Saves

2002- 11 Saves *was he the closer that year?*

2003- 43 Saves

2004- 32 Saves

I would pay as much as he's getting payed now to put up numbers like that especially after the 2003 "closer by committee" year *shudders*

Wow i agree with sarasoxfan

I think Mantei is the best and Olerud is a good idea to replace millar!! Foulke needs to inprove he is in a bad grove!! I think we should move Meuller to second base and give Youkilis a shot at third!! and embree has been hurting them a bit!!

Posted
I didnt say he should be closer i just said he is a reliable reliever not a reliable closer!!!! Foulke has been saving them and blown alot too he just needs to calm down and pitch he has a lot on his mind about the world series last year!!!

Mantei, DA WAKE, Schilling when he isn't running his mouth, Clement, and my love for Arroyo is like a light switch.....constantly being moved from on to off. Myers....nah, Wells, Nah, everyone else is alright

foulke has the highest batting average against in the entire american league and the second highest era, these are dismal stats, and I think he is a major problem. I dont care what he did last year or what he did in the past at all....He sucks right now.

And we need to find someone who can do the job before he blows one more game..in my opinion.

Well, Foulke hasn't been Foulke this season... I hope he gets back to himself. We may have one of the worst bullpens in the league. I can't think of any solid releif pitcher we have.
Posted

oh man, I disagree...

Timlin has been fanatasic for the most part..mantei hasnt been too shabby either..myers hasn't been that bad...embree and foulke are pretty much in the same boat, sometimes good, often horrible.

Posted
Foulke and Embree havent been themselves at all this season!!! mantei and Timlin are right now there best relief pitchers in my opinion!!! Foulke and Embree might have done good in the past but they have been blowing games a lot!!

We need to get rid of Embree. Trade him for a scrub 'spect or another middle reliever and promote Lenny DiNardo. Embree just has nothing right now.
Posted
Ohh yeah Lenny did good last year i definetly agree with that!! Trade him for like round picks thats what i would do!

You can't trade draft picks in baseball.
