we are 16-6 without K-Horn.

No - I'd say it's no coincidence. Graffinino is exactly what this team needed. He's one of the good moves that Theo made during the season. Maybe not as big of an impact as the Nomar trade last season, but still a major piece of the puzzle! I appreciate the contributions that Mark Bellhorn made for us last year (especially some big hits and homers in the playoffs and WS), but 2005 is 2005, and we needed a change @ 2nd base. Tony G. has been terrific since we got him. Fits right in - and plays good "D" and HITS!!!

that was a great trade. Everyone kept saying, who cares he only bats ninth and blah blah blah. This is the Red Sox who can do damage with 2 outs any game, any time (as we did the last 2 nights with a little help from guess who-Graff!). Bellhorn was a momentum killer who rarely put the ball in play. Graff has been a great addition and I hope he stays where he is. Considering Bellhorn is last in batting average IN THE MINORS, it shouldn't be a problem. Another great move was getting Kapler back, pieces are coming together. Next piece is getting Foulke back and in form so Schill can start again.

According to a team source, one scenario the Sox are considering is to release second baseman Mark Bellhorn after his 20-day rehab stint at Pawtucket, get him through waivers, and then outright him to Pawtucket and call him up when rosters are expanded Sept. 1. Judging by recent remarks from manager Terry Francona, the team likes what it gets out of Alex Cora as a utility infielder, and Tony Graffanino has been solid as the starter. Heading into last night's game, his tenth with the PawSox, Bellhorn was batting .135 (5 for 37), with only two extra-base hits, one walk, and 11 strikeouts

17-6 without him---back to being hitless really in Pawtucket going 0 for 3 tonight with 2 Ks, 2 walks and a run scored---now through his 11th game in rehab assignment is batting a paltry 5 for 40 (.125 avg) Double, HR, 5 RBIs, 5 Runs, 3 Walks, 13 Ks

yes, I saw that in the globe.soxie it's almost the end of the bell-around the horn era...I think it's time you purchased a black dress and prepare yourself for the end.

"Unless he is dealt this week, Mark Bellhorn could very well be designated for assignment when his 20-day rehab stint concludes Saturday. If that is the route the team chooses, it's expected that Bellhorn would clear waivers. However, even if he did, he would then have the right to elect free agency. Bellhorn is hitting .167 (7 for 50) with 16 strikeouts and 12 total bases ."

"quickly"????

come on, that's not fair. the poor girl has been defending this stiff since the beginning of the season.

if anything her loyality bordered on delusional and she hung in there through constant insults and complaints about her boy.

In my book she gets the annual Helen Keller Fan award for blind loyality.

He has his moments' date=' sure, but I get soooooo frustrated with the guy. It seems like every time I turn on the TV he's striking out or grounding into some form of double play. [b']And he hit .191 in the postseason last year[/b].

Quite possibly the worst post i've ever seen. FRAUD FAN.

That's good' date=' Mr. 3 posts. Call the guy who runs this board a fraud fan.[/quote']

Let's not bring board cred into this. Bellhorn was one of the only reasons we ended the 86 year drought. Those who do not pay their respects are fraud fans.

Mark Bellhorn is probably at home touching himself knowing that people are still talking about him on Red Sox boards. Seriously? Talk about a dig.

I'm sure that he has people to do that for him.
