I am glad that Matt Clement pitched a great game yesterday. I was very happy when we signed him. I think if he gets some run support he will fit awesome in ou rotation. Once Schilling comes back..............i like our starting 5!!

Glad we are over .500 and would love to finish the sweep of the DRays this afternoon

Yankees are losing againg this afternoon, maybe the curse of AROD will start early this year!!

GO SOX

LETS REPEAT!!

I'm glad Clement pitched well as well, but Schilling is already back in the rotation. You must be talking about Miller...

It'll be nice to have Miller back, can't wait to see how he pitches...

BTW element, how do you get your sig line like that where it shows the words instead of the url. I've been trying to figure that out because I did it before, I just can't figure out how to now.

I tihnk he pitched ok....tops he seemed too stressed and uncomfortable on the mound he seemed like a head case if he just calms down and bears down he could be great but it was against the D-Rays mind everyone so far he hasn't really impressed me. But HOW ABOUT WAKE! Look athim hes pitching phenomanal with a 1.32 ERA and a FRIGGIN 0.88 WHIP if he keeps this up he could have a 17+ win season

If Clement keeps the walks down, he could be dominant. i like him alot

All along with Clement from his days in San Diego, Florida, Chicago and now Boston he has had control problems which causes him problems with the amount of base runners in innings he pitches. Clement is a very good pitcher with very good stuff, but just has to locate it well and with enough effectiveness. If he can do that, I wouldn't want to bat against him.

Another thing though is wherever he goes, he gets a lack of run support. Throughout his career he has only had 2 winning seasons, 12-11 in 2002 and 14-12 in 2003. Last year he went 9-13. Run support shouldn't be a problem here in Boston, and the only problem he has to sort out is his location and control. Once those are done, we have a pitcher who will have a much higher winning percentage than just over .500

I'm extraordinarily happy with Clement so far. He's improved over every single one of his starts so far, check out these numbers:

DATE	OPP	W	L	ERA	SV	IP	H	ER	BB	SO
APR 05	@NYY	0	0	4.15	0	4.1	5	2	3	4
APR 10	@TOR	0	0	4.35	0	6.0	6	3	5	6
APR 16	TB	1	0	3.12	0	7.0	7	1	2	6
APR 21	@BAL	1	0	2.13	0	8.0	8	0	1	7
Totals	2	0	2.13	0	25.1	26	6	11	23

There may have been a question about stamina/versatility earlier, but he's thrown 7 and 8 innings in his last two starts, respectively. He's going to be the key to our rotation I tell you.

I'm very very impressed by those numbers. Hw could be a hugepart of this years team if he continues on like this.
