Yeah, losing 2 out of 3 vs. the Yanks. A new player has to be to blame.

He did kill a bunch of rallies and made some crucial errors. Although, those two runs at the end of the game today were great.

We have to remember the Sox are on the road. All these guys play better at Fenway - that's part of Theo's plan. Wait until next week to pass judgement on any of them.

I really look forward to seeing Rivera pitch at this lineup at Fenway. :)

Is schilling's return still scheduled for the 13th? I have damn nice seats to that game, so lets hope...

As of right now it is, he's scheduled to pitch tomorrow for Pawtucket. MLB.com said it would be showing the game for free and it may be on NESN since there is no Sox game. I believe it's at 2:00.

I was gonna wait until the series was over to post. The Sox do not have Mo's number. He didn't blow that save A-Rod did. Closers always walk people its part of the game. After the error he just coudn't stop the momentum. Hey today was a big day for blown saves. There were a lot of them. I still think the Yankees will win the series in Fenway and the lost won't be against Schilling. If Johnson pitching against him we all know who the superior pitcher.

here's a stat, when pitchers walk the first batter they come around to score 60% of the time. Mo has a problem with walking batters against the red sox.

Hey foulke blew the save yesterday

Yes, but you don't see us calling for his head, do you? Your guy blows a few and people want him traded.

I really wonder why they bother to let Rivera take the mound against the Red Sox AT ALL.

Sure, it's generally wise to give the ball to somebody who's been as consistent and productive as him, but he has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is the wrong guy against this particular team. Maybe it's a pyschological thing, maybe the Sox have his number. Doesn't matter what or why; there's just a "thing" about him and the Red Sox.

We've seen similar phenomena with some of our pitchers. Pedro was largely ineffective against the Yankees over the past few years, while Wakefield often made them look like stumbling drunks.

I am not calling for Mo's head. He is still the best closer in the game. I'm not worried about him, its only the 3rd game in a long season, he'll bounce back. I bet the next time he pitches against the Sox the results will be diffrent.

The Sox also had 3 hits on Rivera, and it was Mariano who loaded those bases up for the Red Sox. The Sox own Rivera just get used to it, his 4 consective blown save against the Red Sox, and I believe 6 out of 7, is complete ownage.

He is still the best closer in the game.

Brad Lidge's 14.5 K/9 rate and Eric Gagne's consecutive save streak record both say hi. Mo was the best closer in the game. He is no longer.

Rivera has blown 12 Saves against the Red Sox in the pst 4 years... I dont know whether its that we know him really well or just luck, but we have definitly gotten in his head, next time he goes to close out a save against us hes going to be really nervous and maybee.... walk some batters
