Can anyone tell me why Kevin Millar doesn't appear in the world series trading cards that McDonalds has out now? :dunno:

He's not in the players union, and as such he doesn't appear in baseball games or mcdonalds trading cards. Also, welcome to the site.

Also moving to general Red Sox chat.

No problem. :) It's the same situation that Jordan was in when he played basketball. He was never in video games either.

Is Barry Bonds in that situation too?

Because in MVP Baseball 2004 he's John Dowd...

It's a similar situation, but I think he's still in the players union, but I don't think he wants to be licensed by MLB or something.

He was a replacement player during the strike, so he doesn't get included in licensed collectible items.

Was reading a story today where some video game has all of the other Sox players listed by name but he's replaced with a fictitious character called "Carlos Ahern" or something like that.

Maybe Kenticuky Fried Chicken should put his pic on the chicken buckets. Those would pop up on ebay 10 years from now with highest bids going to those that don't have any grease stains. ;)

How many players are there in the league like that?

There aren't very many anymore. Lou Merloni, Damian Miller, Kerry Ligtenberg, Matt Herges, Cory Lidle, Tom Martin, Frank Menechino and Brendan Donnelly are the active players along with Millar. Brian Daubach was one of them.

Here's a full list:

You gotta love the name Millar made up for himself: Mike Butcher. That's definitely something he would think of. I'm surprised he didn't pick something like Jethro Steel.

I agree that its stupid. Who are the trading cards and games for; the fans or the players union? The team is the team and I don't like people being excluded because of money and politics. If they don't want him to make any money off promotional items and "they" are not allowed to make money off of him then there should be some kind of compromise. Donate his portion to a charity. I want a Kevin Millar card dammit!
