Did You Know......

If the Red Sox would of shipped Manny Ramirez to the mets, the Red Sox would of pursued (and prob. gotten) Adrien Beltre, and J.D. Drew to go along with the sighning of Renteria. Thats a totaly re-vamped Red Sox team. What do you guys think of that?

I'd still rather have Manny, I'm not real convinced on Beltre. He suddenly breaks out and has a monster season, but coincidentally it is the season that he is playing for a contract. I wouldn't want to give Beltre a long term agreement at the money he has until he proves he can hit like that consistently. Plus I'm satisfied with Mueller at 3rd.

Its not like Beltre is like 32 years old or something, he is ONLY 25! To have a break out season when you are 25 years old is great, especially if you led the Majors in HR. Not to mention the .334 BA. Would you rather have a 33 Year old Manny, or a 25 Year old Beltre, plus a young J.D. Drew. I'll take Beltre + Drew over Manny any day.

Beltre would have hit 55 HR's at Fenway, not only that he hit 23 HR's at Dodger Stadium, he's got a good bat, and is excellent defensivly at 3rd. He laid an egg in the postseason though, as did Drew. Even still I'd go with Beltre and Drew.

Exactly, Beltre is still favoring his leg and will be more of a pull hitter next season. Witch would be sort of even for him in Safeco Field. Witch the Left Field foul pole is like 330 ft. while at Fenway, its barly 300ft

As of this point I would keep Manny but if Beltre has the same type of seasons like last yr....I would strongly think about it.
