I have be reading a lot of wonderful things about pedro on here. Memories of great games, etc. He was a great pitcher, by no means the greatest but great.

However, he showed his true colors with his interview and with signing with Mets.

I have come under attack form some of my fellow talksoxers for comments about this schmuck--and why I criticize pedro and not say, Tek.

The reason is simple. Pedro is a two-faced, greedy, vindictive, cry baby and Tek isnt.

Pedro's comments were typically nonsensical. He's spoiled. pampered f*** head.

I hate to be so bitter, but when the guy tosses salvo's against the sox, and thumbs his nose at the team, I say f*** you.

I wish him nothing but misery and ill-will. I am looking forward to hearing the boo's at shea when this aging scumbag, has to be taken after his usual 6 innings and 100 pitches or better yet when he starts whining and complaingin about the losing, or gets injured....

Thanks for the memories, and f*** you very much

....Now I will get i my bunker and listen for incoming.

I just hate the fact he says he really tried hard to come back to the Sox, we offered 3 yrs and 40 mill or something like that, if he was tring he would have took that. It was about the money just say that, and i would respect you saying that.
Posted

aside from all my bitterness and anger about the guy, becasue I truly believe he is a big pathetic greedy baby-BUT that aside...being as objective as possible without any profanity--I think he was just very hurt (poor baby-couldnt resist) with schilling moving into the number 1 slot.

To be honest being objective again, I dont know what he was saying about the money..I wanted an excuse to leave and he wanted to make its management 's fault no matter what happend.

I have no respect for the guy at all as a person, he can pitch really well, and apparently bitch really well too.

it's a shame it has to end this way with his sad story of how he wanted to stay and no one believing a single word. He won his distorted view of "respect" at Shea and lost any true respect he had with Sox fans.

seriously, wtf is wrong with you? how could you, and why would you wish someone nothing but misery and ill will. how god damn ignorant are you? have you ever met pedro. for all you know he could be the nicest guy on the planet.

he builds f***ing schools in the dominican, he gives to the people. yet you wish him nothing but misery. when was the last time you built a school, in fact, when was the last time you donated to charity or even gave a penny to the homeless.

he gave the sox 3 god damn years to resign him, they didn't. they had the chance to extend his contract in 02 and 03. he cut things off in 04 because he felt he was disrespected. you need to realize that respect is big in other culters, much greater in other cultures than in american culture. he felt he was disrespected.

speaking of all this jibber jabber you're upset about. WHY are you so god damn upset? are you NOT happy he signed with the mets? if pedro had signed with the sox you would not have said ANYTHING. I for one am GLAD he signed with the mets. imo his shoulder is a risk and for all we know he could NEVER post a sub 3.5 era again. i was willing to gamble for 2 years with a 3rd option, possibly even 3 year contract but 4, no way.

what's done is done, why are you STILL f***ING BITCHING about this issue? the guy was a god. to say that he WAS NOT the GREATEST pitcher EVER in a sox uniform is showing how little you know.

how is pedro not the greatest pitcher ever, let alone greatest pitcher in a sox uniform. the closes are cy young, eckersly and clemens. even then pedro blows them out of the water.

i just threw a friggan frag in your bunker and you couldn't get out. god damnit. see you in heaven. i'll bring the pipe

john

p.s.- pedro will NEVER lose my respect. he brought so many fans to and back to the red sox. people came to fenway every 5th day to watch him pitch. people cared about the red sox to watch him pitch. without pedro the sox of the late 90's would have been abosolutely NOTHING.

john this is a thread to discuss and crticize pedro, I would appreciate it if you would respect the the thread and keep your platitudes for the guy on the thread you kicked me out of.

I started this because you didnt wanmt me bad mouthing the loser on the other thread--if you remember.

and I am pissed becasue I as I have said a million times, though you never seem to catch this part---he is a great pitcher. you said on the other thread he was the greatest pitcher who ever lived--not the greatest redox pitcher but the greatest picher. So read your own posts before you start assaulting me

I am bitching becasue the dickhead opened his bad fat greedy immature non professional midget loving mouth again yesterday and I felt that if you can blow him in your thread I can insult him here..

so there, and I am not in the bunker any more...haha

If pedro is a God, it's no wonder the world is so f***ed up....what does that make his midget-Jesus?

what does that make you-John the baptist?

i hope you don't really think that i LITERALLY think he's god.. it's a figure of speech, don't use figure of speech against someone in an arguement. it's childish.

as for greatest pitcher: how is pedro not THE greatest pitcher ever? did you not read any of the stats?

this is a totally different kind of thread. the other thread was a thread we all had good memories of pedro. he was translucent when he pitched. we just wanted to reminice and here you come crashing the party.

this is a different type of thread, you're just here to take cheap shots at the guy because you are upset over stupid s***. i'm here to tell you to GET THE f***ING HELL OVER IT.

honestly. did you ever see pedro pitch. he was the only hope the sox had during the 99 series. i swear, you're a friggan 03 sox fan.

If you wouldn't do exactly what Pedro did then your a f***ing liar, he was playing the market and got what he wanted. Greed is actually a good thing, Pedro got his extra year and 12 million more dollars.

Good Luck Pedro! We'll miss you

talk about cheap shots what are you throwing at me..

I said he was great, want do you want me to do get on my knees and blow him..

It would be too crowded with you down there anyway!

I saw him pitch plenty of times...I saw him pitch when he was with montreal.

translucent---? what the f*** are you trying to say.... defiinition:almost transparent; allowing light to pass through diffusely; "translucent amber";

your commments are translucent thats for sure!

Have fun skiing-break a leg....now that's a figure of speech---

at least I think so.but I'm not so sure in your case.

I would have stayed with the sox....truthfully.

I would have taken the three years and retired. The pig said it himself he was a millionaire at 24.

I wouldnt have wanted to uproot myself again-leave a winning team for a losing team, or leave my teammates or fans.

I wouldn't have played all the teams against each and blown my mouth off in the papers, I wouldnt have whined about respect, and wouldnt have busted on schilling in the papers.

I would have handled my problems with management with management.

And with curt with curt.

Not everyone is a materialistic sack of s***...

What are you from the movie-Wall Street-Greed is Good.

Loyality, winning and team are far better in my mind, than greed..

Good bye-pedro, we appreciated what you did but no one will miss the greedy attitude or spolied ********......well not me anyway.

So what? He made comments to our owners. Most of them are *******s when it comes to negotiating (ESPECIALLY LUCHINNO!)

Pedro gave us EVERY chance to re-sign him. Ever since 2002. When he talks about waiting until the last minute to offer that is what he means, three years later. Not "right after" the Mets offered him a contract.

Posted

Can you say hypocrit? I'm sure you were saying that in the postseason. You need to learn that players move, and just cause they do, does not make them *******s. They gave him a monster contract, how can you blame him for wanting the money?

There's always one I guess.

I can say hypocrite....

It's not like the redsox offered him chicken feed.

I think he's a schmuck, big deal.He has been a schmuck for three years, I'm not saying he cant pitch (though he is slowing down)..

I'm not saying Ia guy shouldnt go after the money, but I think he has always handled this type of stuff poorly, and I think he acted like an immature punk this year. And that interview made me want to vomit. what an unpriofessional ingrate

He's a crybaby and not worth the fourth year, anyway. So if that is something the mets are willing to give, more power to 'em..they will get screwed but who cares--I'm still pissed abbout '86.

I have learned players move and that doesnt necessarily make them *******s. BUt this player is moving and he is an *******.

On the other hand (and please before you start going nuts)There's no comparison as players, as impact players ---in any way shape of form..Yes, pedro is HOF material......but when Gabe Kapler left, I thought he handled it like a man..he left for money, and I think he will be missed on the filed and in the clubhouse. I havent heard a peep out out varitek during his contract negotiations. he's handling it like a pro, and if he leaves over money, I'd wish him well.

Pedro is pampered brat, and he represenets a lot that is worng with sports nowadays..

NEW YORK (AP) -- Pedro Martinez says he told Red Sox management he didn't want to be in the shadow of fellow ace Curt Schilling. He also hopes his new team, the New York Mets, will sign his former Boston battery-mate, Jason Varitek.

In an interview with the Boston Herald, Martinez criticized the negotiating tactics of Red Sox officials, saying he repeatedly got mixed signals from team president Larry Lucchino, owner John Henry and General Manager Theo Epstein, whom he called "arrogant."

Martinez signed a four-year, $53 million contract with the Mets this week. He said he left the Red Sox after seven years partly because he didn't want to be second in the starting rotation behind Schilling, who was acquired last offseason and helped lead the team to its first World Series championship in 86 years.

"I told [Henry], 'You want to sign me, get it done. Please force them to get it done. I'm willing to stay here. Negotiate with them. I just don't want to be under Schilling," Martinez said.

He also said he deserved a better deal than Schilling.

"Schilling is 38, I'm only 33," he said. "The fact that I had an off-year doesn't mean that I can be below Schilling. Still, with an off-year, I'm way over Schilling as a pitcher and I've pitched pretty much like Schilling the last few years, if you're going to talk about durability."

Red Sox officials did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Asked what other free agents he thought Boston would sign, Martinez said "they'll be stupid not to do Varitek. Varitek is the next one gone. Theo's going to have the biggest problem with him."

Epstein has said signing Varitek is one of his offseason priorities. The catcher is reportedly seeking a five-year contract worth more than $50 million, with a no-trade clause.

"I hope he is gone," Martinez said of Varitek. "I hope 'Tek is on my team."

Asked whether that meant he wanted to get rid of current Mets catcher Mike Piazza, Martinez said, "I do want Piazza, too. Piazza is a good hitter. We can move him to first or somewhere. ... I want 'Tek. 'Tek is a good player, a good catcher."

He also said Epstein and Lucchino "weren't getting along in negotiations. Lucchino would say one thing and Theo would show up with another."

He said Epstein treated his agent, Fernando Cuza, poorly during negotiations.

"Theo got really arrogant on Fernando and I didn't appreciate it," Martinez said. "Theo believed that he had me and wasn't the nicest man communicating with Fernando."

He said Red Sox manager Terry Francona played a small role in managing the team, taking his cues from the team's front office.

"Francona is subject to what they decide," Martinez said. "Francona had no say, like he didn't have any say in managing the team. He was manipulated from upstairs."

Asked for evidence to back that assertion, he said, "I was in the clubhouse, that's how I know."

What do you think of nomar then?

Posted

to tell you the truth I dont hate nomar-I never really loved him when he was here in spite of how popular he was....but he was great.

I wasnt sorry ot see him go, because I think it helped the team, and ultimately thats all I care about--the red sox..

so if you were betting on hate--you'd lose.

Nomar didnt negotiate in the press, he didnt whine about money ()much) and he didnt make his own rules and behave like a spoiled child.

Have you ever seen 12 angry men?

How were they *******s? They were looking to trade for a vastly superior SS and Nomar bitched about it, and decieded not to play for Boston. So f*** him
Posted

They tried to upgrade from the second best SS to best SS while getting rid of the best hitter outside of San Fran.

They also went about the completely wrong way. Millar didn't help either.

Nomar didn't feel wanted, and it was wrong since him and Pedro have been the faces of the franchise since 1997-1998.

I really do wish Pedro hadn't done that. Why tarnish the memories we have of him? I still hope he does well, just because of the past, but seriously... that was a douche bag thing to do.

that's pretty weak of pedro. i can see where he's coming from. i would hate being pushed back to #2 when i am/was the best pitcher to ever touch a baseball.

that's the kind of stuff you seriously gotta keep your mouth shut about. the other stuff is fine to rap about, but that, should have been kept to himself. we all know/knew it, he didn't have to spell it out. sigh

i think epstein said it best though: "I just don't put much stock in that. It's a heat of the moment type thing," Epstein said. "I choose to look at the man, not one comment."

Dirt Dog promises that Schilling will break his silence in saturday's Boston Globe, but what I'd like to know is: When the hell has he ever stopped running his mouth?

Pedro is going off on Schilling right now because he is being asked about Schilling's comments to WEEI for a "different set of rules".
