apparently jaret failed his physical-, and it looks like the deal may be off.

 

I dont know about you guys but I take a perverse pleasure in seeing yankee deals get screwed up.

right now its pavano, brown, vasquez, wright (?)...and milton... I guess if I were them I'd be looking for Johnson because right now that rotation aint oigoin g to make anyone piss ion their pants-that's for sure.

they wont be, they signed russ ortiz and troy glaus to major contracts...both in the 40 mills range. their making a run at a WS WITH johnson...theyd be stupid to sign russ and glaus and then trade johnson...

why would the dbacks want to take on the contracts that were given to milton or wright?

 

better yet, why would they want to take on BOTH contracts, because that's essentially what it would probably take to get johnson.

According to ESPN, Wright passed his second physical and will be a Yankee for $21 mil over 3 years.

 

He's got good stuff and a lot of potential, but pitchers who leave Atlanta almost always decline:

 

Denny Neagle, John Burkett, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine

 

Yes, all of these guys were older than Wright when they left... and Jason Schmidt (traded for Neagle actually) is one of the top pitchers in the game.

 

BUT, I think the Yankees overpaid.
