Yankees re-sign Tanyon Sturtz. A very good signing.

Sorry, but that is pretty funny. His ERA at Fenway the last THREE years is only... ummmm.... 10.29!

Jeez, look at these number and try not to laugh. They are that bad.

He had a 5.47 ERA over the entire year with NY, which is actually worse than his career ERA of 5.23. How much did he sign for?

And, if I remember, he pitched 3.2 scoreless innings against you guys at YS in the month of September

And, if I remember, he crumbled against the Sox in the fight game, giving up 2 runs in the 3rd inning, after that he was done.

Sorry, but I can't get off the joyride that is Tanyon Sturtze....

Over the last 3 years, his "count" splits go like this. (And this is against the whole league):

When the count is:

0-0 (first pitch), BAA: .352 :o

1-1, BAA: .430 :o :o

2-0, BAA: .375 B)

2-1, BAA: .357 :harhar:

For some reason they don't have his 3-0 or 3-1 splits, but I'm sure they were .120 BAA or something Pedro-like.

3.2 scoreless innings...an amazing feat  ....would u like a cookie?

He came in relief after El Duque went out after 3 innings. He pitched very well until the 7th, where Gordon came in to end that inning.

Soxfan #1 plaease explain to me how Clement is a "good pitcher" what has done to qualify him as a good pitcher?

So then he is better than Carl Pavano, yet folded in the 2003 playoffs and has never had a season as good as Pavano's 2004 season?

The Chicago Cubs today agreed to terms with outfielder Todd Hollandsworth on a one-year contract for the 2005 campaign. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. He was eligible for salary arbitration.

Giants signed outfielder Moises Alou, who had been with the Cubs, to a one-year contract with a player option for 2006.

The deal is worth $13.25 million and contains $500,000 in incentives. Alou, who said he will retire if the Giants win the World Series in 2005, will start in right field and likely bat fifth behind Barry Bonds. Michael Tucker is now the Giants' fourth outfielder, but he should take some playing time away from Marquis Grissom against righties.

Last year was pavanos one good year. He's also cursed for giving up record setting home runs.

 and when did Clement ever have a good year? All his years are ERA's of 4, 5, and one of high 3's in the NL. Please elaborate
