Red Sox tickets climbing again

BOSTON (AP) Members of Red Sox nation are going to have to dig a little deeper to see the Old Town Team at Fenway Park next year.

Red Sox tickets are on the rise again.

Red Sox fans already pay the highest ticket prices of any baseball fans in the country. Next season they'll have to pay even more.

Fenway prices will rise on average about 7 percent next year. That's on top of 5 percent hike last year.

Team officials say fans buying high-end tickets will bear the brunt of the increases and will see prices rise by up to $10 a ticket.

Fans in the cheap seats won't see any increase.

Team officials said the higher prices are needed to keep the World Series Champions competitive in the new season.

I like how they say "to keep the World Series Champions competitive in the new season" I guess if there is such great demand people will have no problem spending a few more bucks on this team.

I think there is a cap people will pay to see the Sox play the Rays, or something like that, but they have a honeymoon period after the WS and they are taking advantage of it. Could be worse...and th best seats in th house are still reasonable...bleachers $23 ( up from $20).

I'll pay if the Sox keeping paying their players!

...don't forget you can always come by and take a shot at our Free tix --- we haven't raised our prices ;)

See ya at the park on opening day!!!!!!!!

i was hoping they wouldn't raise the price, but who here actually thought they wouldn't. they got us by the balls and they know it. if the added revenue results in wins, then i could really care less. i'll still go to a bunch of games per year and if i can't well HDTV makes the games great to watch at home.
