I'd love you guys to explain your feelings as soon as Foulke flipped it to Mientkiewicz for the final out.

I have only been a baseball (and Red Sox) fan for about 4 years. Never really took notice of the sport before they started showing games here on Fox. Since then, though, I've loved every single minute of it (well not exactly - eg. 2003 ALCS game 7 - but you know what I mean!).

I must say I was tingling when we got the final out, when Buck said "Red Sox fans have longed to hear it...the Boston Red Sox are world champions!" I know it wasn't sensational commentary, but that moment was just amazing.

Then at the end of the broadcast, when they played the song "At Last," the tingles and shivers came back.

I can't imagine what it must have felt like for the long-time Red Sox fans. The pain of the past makes it all the more sweeter - I know, my football team here hasn't won a premiership since 1964 and I long for the day I will finally see us win one.

I'd like to hear all your thoughts and emotions the moment the Sox finally did it!

well for one, i went off running down the hall in my house screaming at the top of my lungs if that makes something ring a bell. also, i still cant really believe we won it, and its kind of odd to think like this.

plainly put, it feels pretty damn good to finally know what it feels like to win.

i don't really know when i officially became a red sox fan. i went to my first game in 1990, the year the sox made it to the alcs and was swept by the a's. i can't say i really remember that at all. i just remember the game that i went to and sitting behind one of those massive pillars totally blocking my view.

as time went on i watched games on tv by myself (no father figure in the house), i never really followed the sox, ie fantasy baseball, looking up stats, reading espn. i was always too young. i just watched the games that were broadcasted on tv. even in high school i kept the same tradition of watching a few games here and there. before college i think i only attended a total of 6 or 7 sox games. i come from a pretty poor family, only person that had interest in the sox was my uncle and he took me to all my games.

sr. year in high school i was a bit more into the internet scene, freshman year college was when it really sank in. i was playing fantasy baseball everyday, same went for sophmore year and this year i was so into the sox i didn't have time to play my fantasy team.

so yeah, i'm not sure how long i've been a fan, i just know that it felt great. it felt like i was waiting a long time. to some people they would consider me a 14 year vet, to others i'm a one year bandwagon, however percieve it.
