Two of the most humble guys I have ever seen. Last nights interview with Fox after receiving the MVP, my boy spoke highly of Damon and how he contributed to the team. Not once did he refernce to himself about how great he is, or how many homeruns he hit. Just like Barry in his acceptance speak for the Hall of Fame...Barry didn't talk about any records or MVP trophies. Ortiz is a class act.

btw, bonds can suck it. saying bostons racist, i know im going backwards in time, but saying that is just stupid.

Ortiz is so great. He's settled down Manny, learned from him, and has become a force in the AL. He's one of the few players I'll say right now is hugely underpayed at, what, 5 Million/year. Think of all the guys on the Yanks who make triple what he makes, and are 1/3 the hitter/teammate. Oh, and he's clutch.....

 

BTW - I had the Barry mix up too, but I'm drunk.

I really don't think any player in that position would say "I am the greatest, cheer for me." I'm pretty sure any of them would have thrown praise towards Johnny who, let's not forget, had 6 rbi in game 7. Also, the fact that Ortiz seems to have a small amount of trouble with the English language may have caused him to come across as more reserved than he really is.

I dissagree with the last post. I believe Jeter would have said he was "On Fire," or that he was "In the Zone." You know it ...I know it.....bunch of Yankee usual crap.
