Thanks, els -- I gotcha. I'm ready for the crushing disappointment, though . I was watching in 1986 and in 2003, so any crushable parts of my soul have already been crushed (though it's true that those parts may have bounced back a bit in the intervening years). And if we lose Game 6 (or 7, or in the Series), then I will have had my little moment of fantasy glory. Hey, it's better than being a Devil Rays fan. Their moment of fantasy glory is splitting at home with the Blue Jays.

yeah, you're right. We Red Sox fans complain a lot (me included) but we've got to accept the fact that no matter what happens in this series, at least this team is entertaining. No wonder people in Tampa, Montreal, etc give up on their teams....

 

Crushing defeats are what make the Red Sox the Red Sox. It's a lot more painful losing a series in 6 or 7 than in 4.

 

Sure, we can say "We gave it one hell of a series," but in the end, it's a loss.

 

If they get swept, it's not as big a dissapointment, because the team gave very little hope to begin with.

 

I really hope they win. I don't know if I can handle another loss to the f'in yankees
