2 BB, 1 K, 1 ER in 1 IN tonight. Williamson isn't making this easy.

I think you need to give the guy a break. He just came back, and prior to this he had been pitching extraordinarily well. He will be in the pen, no doubt about it, and he will pitch well. He's pretty much been our only consistently good reliever, and there's no possible way that putting him on the playoff roster would be a hard decision.

I don't think he will be on it. The Red Sox are only going to go with 10 pitchers which would mean only 6 would come out of the bullpen. They don't want to take a chance of Williamson going down which would leave only 5 guys out of the bullpen, so I think they will take Leskanic.

The Sox get to make a new roster for the ALCS and once again the Williamson question comes up.

I'm wondering if the Sox had Williamson for the ALDS, would Tito have gone to Embree in the 7th in Game 3 to face Erstad, and then brought in Williamson to face Vlad. Clearly Tito has no faith in Lescanic in pressue situations, so why bother even putting him on the roster?

I know everyone is worried about Williamson pitching two days in a row, but if you need an out, Williamson is more valuable than Lescanic. Maybe the Sox need to carry Williamson and take Youklis off for the ALCS.

Here are some facts about Mendoza in prior ALCS appearances:

0-0 record/0.75 era/12 IP/7 SO/2 BB/1 ER/7 H/1 SV

I'm picking Mendoza because he has experience and is not a liability. Leskanic scares the hell out of me. Williamson, out of the question.

I have always thought mendoza as well, and now that confirms it.

They are paying mendoza a pretty penny and he has been really looking better lately and we were seeing some dividend for that investment.

They should make that switch. I see williamson is going under the knife...good luck scottie.

Wow. I had no idea Mendoza was so good in the alcs. He was with the yanks prior to the sox, so it makes sense. He was with them when they were absolutely dominant.

He pitched in that July 24th brawl game against the Yanks.

I think he pitched 1 or 2 innings but I know he got the win.

He did pretty good against the Yanks then.

Scott Ridge(4:53) - Joe Torre doesn't expect to have Rivera for Game 1. Got this from the SOSH forum. That has to be good news. I know it wasn't sure if he was going to comeback (with cashman saying he was then other sources saying otherwise). Here it is from Torres mouth.

Sad news though.

If Lowe sucks again tonight, I'd leave him off and move Mendoza to the long relief roll. As it stands right now, I have zero faith that Lowe can help the team in the postseason.

HAHAHA... Spoken like a true "idiot". :D

I hope Tito doesn't change a thing for the World Series. Carrying the extra pitcher for the ALCS, even though it was Mendoza, was a great move.
