If the Sox put Kim in the 'pen I might bail. This guy is not only a whinebag and has a bad attitude, but he is the WORST CLUTCH RELIEVER I have seen in my life. It wasn't even just last year's playoffs. Anyone remember the deja vu performance against the Yanks in the World Series. PLEASE don't bring Kim back.

I don't think they're going to activate him. I think they just want him to pitch since all minor league seasons have ended. If they do activate him he would only pitch in blowouts.

i firmyl believe that kim is going to be one of the better pitchers in a sox uniform in the years to come, remember, he's only what? 24, 25 tops. you don't go from throwing 98+ at 24 to not being able to top 88 ever again, 10 miles is just TOO much to lose so fast.

he came over from a foreign country, has no friends, no family here, it takes a while to adjust, then injuries etc. you need to realize that in his culture fans don't really boo their players, he reacted due to poor decisions. hell, if fans boo'ed me i give them the finger too. that in no way means that he has a bad attitude, how many of you people actually know him?

as for cluth reliever, i hate the word clutch, people are out there to do their jobs. it's their job to get things done. why is someone clutch when they do their job? firemen must be wicked "clutch"..

watch and see, kim is going to be nasty.

both of you are stupid, it was an obvious typo, seeing that i typed the word correctly in the same sentence.

a post from steve80 from baseball.com forums.

He didn't flip off Fenway, he flipped off the morons that were booing him for Embree's blown save in the ALDS. It wasn't the right thing to do, but I honestly don't blame him. He helps pitch the team into the playoffs and becomes the team's biggest scapegoat. Without him, simply put, the Red Sox don't make the playoffs last season.

i think that does kim justice. he was definately a scapegoat. it's too bad.

Please keep kim. The yankees absolutely own him.

considering kim was very good and owned many teams i would keep him even if the yankees "owned" him.

i believe he'll get back to where he was and then some and he won't be "owned" by the yankees anymore, but that's just how i feel.

sorry ur wrong and whats ur name on the yankkee board

I'm wrong? Did you miss the entire 2001 World Series? He is going to be nervous of us because of those 2 games. The guy almost commited suicide. It isn't going to be a walk in the park for him. Why do you need to know my name? What Yankee board are you referring to?

Kim may not be a bad pitcher, but some guys can't handle the spotlight. He would probably do well in a small market i.e. Arizona (minus the World Series) than here in Boston, as he has shown. Ship him off and get someone who can handle the heat.

I disagree and agree with a lot of things that have been said in this thread:

first: Yes, certain players can struggle/dominate certain teams. Look at Rodrigo Lopez: He's an average pitcher, until he faces Boston... then he's freakin' Cy Young. It happens.

second: Kim failed miserably in the 2001 World Series, everyone knows that. Did he have a hard time getting over it? Sure, who wouldn't. He still has great stuff and if he could harness that stuff.... He could be dominant.

third: Some players simply can't perform on the big stage: Roberto Alomar (Mets)struggled, Jeff Weaver and Kenny Rogers (Yankees) are perfect examples. Is Kim one of those guys? Maybe, maybe not.

Last year, Kim was 4-2 with a 4.17 ERA at Fenway Park with 8 saves in 11 opportunities. By contrast, he was MUCH better on the road last season (8 for 8 in save opportunities, a 2.65 ERA.

This would point toward maybe Kim struggling in places like Fenway and Yankee stadium, but the guy's 25 years old, meaning he's not yet in his prime, and he has the chance to learn how to succeed in big games.

The Red Sox have GOT to hope he can overcome his injuries and past failures and be a productive pitcher soon. I think they're just looking to get him exposure this year and set him up for next season.

IF the Red Sox can clinch a playoff spot before the end, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kim getting a start against Baltimore in October. Especially if the Sox are trying to set up their post-season rotation.

First, f*** Kim

Second, Kim may be good one day, but thats not helping the team out now, the best thing he can do for the team is come to one of the Red Sox training facilities and train.

Third, Keep him at pawtucket, maybe even portland cause he did s***** even in pawtucket

100% correct.

Kim needs to be traded to anyone who will take him, I trade him for a half eaten apple.

Kim needs to get this through his rice ball head. He isn't a starter, he's an average relief pitcher at best.
