A football QB is totally different from baseball. To be the best you have to prove that you can drive your team to victory in the big game with little time to go. If you look at the history you'll see that every great QB has done that.

Also, look at overtime winning percentage, and playoff win percentage for Brady, then tell me he means nothing.

The Cowboys finished first in defense last year, so they have a good defense. The Patriots defense won in 2001 20-17 isn't an offensive game. I believe Ty Law took one back, and so did McGanist so the defense won the championship. Brady isn't the best QB in the league, Culpepper is faster by a lot, he has more arm strength, and better accuracy. Brady is just on a loaded team, he's a good QB, not a great one.

You can't be serious... without Brady, the Pats have 2 of 3 losing seasons and get no Super Bowls. Jeter isnt that great of a hitter, he can only hit for average. Its the team around him that makes him better.

He's actually right, football is more of a team game, something the Patriots understand well. Brady is the man for that system, he's the type of quarterback, who, when the games close won't kill you with a mistake. In baseball, you can relay on 2 players and win a lot of ball games, example the San Fran Giants. Their team sucks, besides Bonds and Schmidt. They can't afford the loss of any of their players. In football, if the Patriots were to lose Brady those 2 out 3 years, they had an very competent quarterback in Drew Bledsoe, back in 2001. They sucked it up big time in 2002, but Damon Huard also fits the Patriots plan of turning around and handing the ball to the running back. Brady is an important piece to the puzzle, but not a huge piece, the Patriots team all are pieces of the puzzle.

I am excited for this season. Going for the three-peat. Can Terrell live up to his potential? Can Mangini sufficently run the defense as Crennel did? Its going to be a pretty interesting title defense.

at least it's not a demanding pre-season schedule. To bad they wouldn't do a Eagle/Pat match like the Sox and Yanks did in spring training
