Erm, no he doesn't.

Career F%:

Cabrera- .977

Jeter- .975

Besides, F% isn't the best way to judge a fielder. I prefer RF myself, with a dash of F%.

wow what a big difference.

Still, by your logic Derek Jeter sucks, and that was the point. You go and say Cabrera can't field, and yet he has a higher fielding % than Jeter as Zenny just posted.

Like I said, F% isn't a great indicator of an outstanding defensive player. If you can't get to many balls, then you aren't that great of a fielder. Cabrera blows away Jeter in RF (my favorite defensive stat), though. I'd take Cabrera over Jeter defensively any day.

Offensively? Jeter is the better hitter, mostly because he takes more walks with the power numbers being equal (save for this year, I dunno what happened to him in Montreal, but he's turned it around for us). I do honestly believe that Cabrera could challege for the single-season doubles record of 67 if given a full season in Boston. He hit 50 in Montreal last year and 15 in 36 games for the Sox already.

so who would you want? Lets say both wern't on your team and were avaible. Who do you pick?

It's a close call. For the money they're making? Cabrera. If there was no money involved? Jeter, but I'd move him to 2B where less range is needed, then I'd sign Cabrera. :)

You can call me Captain Cop-Out.

I agree with Zenny. As much as I hate to admit it, Jeter's a classy ballplayer, a clubhouse leader, and a very good clutch hitter. I'd sign him and move him to second...because as I've said in the past, Jeter's not even the best shortstop on his TEAM.

Jeter without a hesiatation, the guy's a winner.

Any one can win in the situation Jeter was put in anyone I take Cabby because he has a baetter glove and he can hit better than it appears.

Would he be a winner on a bad team? no... The team around him is what makes him. Look at the lineups he has had with him in his career. That is what makes him the winner he is
