i voted the bats, our SP wouldnt be anywhere if it wasnt for the run support. defense and the pitching is up there, and i still think the mangement has gotten better, slightly. chemistry has always been there.

at least im glad to see francona not looking like a douche-mcgoosh :P .

bring on the first day of september, and the angels.

All of the above? This team has finally clicked, and it has made for the best August in recent memory. Now, if this team can avoid folding in September like they love to do, we may REALLY have something to be giddy about.

I voted Pitching. I think that since our pitching has kicked in, we have been awesome. We all knew that we had big bats and would be able to score runs for our pitching. Above all though, through all the amazing starts, our bullpen has been the best it has all season despite not having our best reliever in Williamson. I think that Foulke is broken out of the midseason slump he had, and is now back to being the automatic 3 out guy he has been in the past. Timlin has picked up some of Embrees slack and Myers was an excellent addition. I think thta in the end, our pitching is what carried us to that excellent month.

I voted Defense. The pitching has been better, but I think it's a direct result of the improved defense behind them.

Cabrera > Nomar

Mientkiewicz > Ortiz/Millar

I can't wait until Pokey comes back and can play second base. Mueller/Cabrera/Reese/Mientkiewicz is going to be a VERY good defensive infield for late in games.....

That being said, Bellhorn's been very good at second too...

sheesh, you guys make these things hard to choose. I voted bats coming alive. We left so many runners on during the past months, poeple like varitek, millar, mueller, etc were all slumping at the same time. Injuries, horrible lineup juggling all combined to limit our true power. Mr. Garciapopup didnt help much when he returned either. Now they are firing on all cylinders. I thin our starting pitching is excellent. 5 starters who can win..are winning and have not been injured, knock wood.

Now that are bullpen is improving we can hold leads and stay in games. Another key.

This is it fellas....bring on the MF Yankmees. God., I hate them...

Sara,

Remember, when we were still a .500 team, we were still in the upper half of offensive production. I think one thing that HAS changed is that we have finally been getting KEY hits. Hits with 2 outs, runners on base, etc.

When we were playing .500 ball, We were a great hitting team when it didn't count, but in the clutch, we just plain sucked. That's making a HUGE difference in the "W" column

i voted bats but all of the above apply i picked bats becausethis offense scored 20 runs in 2 games vs the evil twin sox. i might even go as far as to say this offense is better than last years.
