Last night's game was a tough loss. We find out if this team can rebound tonight.

We need a good start from Wake, we need to take the next 2 and win this series.

At this point of the season, tied with Anaheim, we need to win every game we can.

Go Sox!

Sometimes we kill Batista, sometimes we can't touch him. Story of the Sox season. Interesting to note: Kevin Millar, Gabe Kapler and Mark Bellhorn are tonight's backup catchers until Tek returns. Yikes. Unless they call up Dominique, we are screwed.

Zenny,

It makes me shutter to think of the Red Sox catching situation right now. Mirabelli is good, but the backups....well...aren't. The Sox are gambling right now, and we hope that it pays off...3 more games.

On WEEI last night Francona and Theo said Mientkiewicz could also catch in a pinch.

No matter how you slice it, that's not a good situation to be in. Taking nothing from those guys....but they simply aren't Major League catchers....

poor dougie...the way we talk about..it's not like we're putting FDR behind the plate. The guy can handle a couple of games. He has gotten some clutch hits, and certainly isnt the worst backup in the world.

I mean if he gets hit by a bottle in the side of the head or has a massive stroke, then we'll see bvut I think the cathing situation is the least of our worries.

And hey, the good news is that alan embree is rested ...

Unfortunately, every other team on the face of the planet also won. But whatever, we can't focus just on the other teams, we need to win every game possible and see what happens then.

you said it, yeszir. I myself was looking at the scoreboards hoping Anaheim, Texas, and New York all lost. But the fact of the matter is, the Red Sox just gotta take care of themselves, and WIN BALLGAMES!

Great win last night, Timlin bailing out Wake. Wake got out of his own jams early, which is always key in a close game.

Foulke getting the save.

Mirabelli coming through was huge.

We have to admit we are getting ALL the breaks right now. Johnny Damon makes a bad play on Menechino's "triple," and we still are able to pull out a win. I guess these things happen in cycles. Let's hope the good luck keeps rolling!
