Schmidt's ERA is very misleading......

He's much, MUCH better than it shows.

Last nine starts: 7-0, 1.75 ERA, 11.20 K/9 IP -- 119.2 pitches per start

Did my best Tek33 Game Thread imitation. :D

Lol, great job imitating. And schmidt has been down right scary recently, I'm afraid that the sox won't be able to eek this one out. But you never know, right?

If Noah Lowry can outpitch Pedro Martinez, then there is a definite chance that Bronson Arroyo can outpitch Jason Schimdt. That's the thing with baseball you never know who's going to win on any given night.

im with yeszir, not confident at all. schmidt has returned to the all-star game starter we saw last season, and bronson has been horrible the past month. but as stocker said, anything can happen on any night

Perzynski is such a moron. First he catches a pitch he believes is a strike and gets up and starts back to the dugout before the ump even calls it a strike, and then today Schmidt strikes out Arroyo and the dumbass doesn't even tag him or throw to 1st.

God damn I wish Orsillo would quit talking about pitch count for once in his broadcast career... it gets ANNOYING. Especially when Pedro starts, I don't want to know how many pitches he has through 3 or anything irrelevant like that because then I have to start thinking about how much longer he'll be in, how many innings he'll be able to pitch and all that nonsense. That whole 105 limit is horseshit anyway. Go back to Felipe, Pedro.

I just had a feeling Schmidt was going to completely dominate, and as much as it suck seeing the Sox lose, I have to admit that after we got screwed on that call and the Giants hit the grand slam, I WANTED him to finish the shutout. It's great to see CG shutouts. I can respect that. It doesn't hurt that Schmidt is one of my favorite pitchers in baseball.

Oh, and Francona showed some balls and got himself ejected, that was awesome. He was flailing around like crazy.

I dont think enough credit is being given to Schmidt here. That was one of the most dominant outings by a pitcher against the sox that I have ever seen.
