Okay, so we went on a losing skid at the beginning of the month, and every ******* in Red Sox Nation started to twitch, get a little loose. Maybe some justified panic at the first signs of our notorious bullpen crumbling. But hey, we pulled through, right? And if someone - some wizened baseball sage - had told us all that our Sox would be riding at the top of the AL East, .621, two full games ahead of the MFY, by May 8th...would we take it?

 

You bet your sweet red ass we would.

 

Now all we got to do is hold it together, and you know what...to quote two fine British gentlemen, Lennon and McCartney (I don't think they were singing about the Red Sox at the time, but they may have been): "I got a feeling, a feeling deep inside, oh yeah..."

This season is starting to look very promising. Our starting pitching has improved 5-fold, our bullpen 10-fold, and our offense is just as good - without Nixon or Nomar!

I second that. This season has just been so fun to watch. You just don't know what to expect. Hopefully we can keep it up through the latter months of the season when Nomar and Trot are back.

It's only May, but so far so good for the Sox. I did a little bit of fun calculating and came up with, at the current pace, the Red Sox will finish 103-59. lol, if only that would really happen.
