Should be a good pitching duel today. I see Schilling performing marvelously after his "poor" outing vs. Toronto. Hopefully the bats can jump on Moose's knucklecurve. Game time 1:20 on NESN.

Phew. It got tense there in the 9th, but its over now. Great game by schilling, but I have a few problems with Francona's decisions.

Why did he take Schilling out in the 7th? I know his pitch count was up there, but Schilling can take a lot of abuse, and he was doing so damn well! And also, wtf, why put foulke in AGAIN in a non-save situation, when he isnt needed. It makes no sense to me. Now they most likely wont be able to use him tomorrow if a save situation arises.

Schilling could've thrown 150 pitches today! Man, what an outing.

I believe he topped at 96 MPH. "Wicked Hahd", Indeed.

Although Schilling was great, he's been walking so many guys. Last year I think he had something like 16 walks all season, and here he goes and walks 4 in one game.

What is it? Is it pitching in Boston? Is he trying to paint the corners more? Well, as long as he pitches well I cant really complain. It was just something that struck me as odd.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. He has great control so I think it's just that he needs to get into the groove. I mean he's only 3 starts into the season. He'll have those Cy Young numbers in a few starts. It's not like he's been getting shelled, we just expect him to throw a perfect game every time out.
