  1. They don't.......... but they have won with a lot less than most over the past decade. Cash does a great job there and they seem to get the most out of their unheralded lineup every year. Nice to get a sweep of a team that's been a pain in the Sox's backside over the years.
  2. Most of the talking heads had very positive comments. Watched a few of his highlights and his delivery reminded me a little of Kutter Crawford. On another note. 3 kids from the same high school # 6 pick, #10 pick and #32 pick out of Carona, California. That's crazy.
  3. It's been a while for sure. I like their energy right now. The newbies are living up to their hype so far. There's a pulse............... finally.
  4. We've seen the other side of it when they don't miss. Anytime one of the relievers can come in and not walk 2, hit a batter and give up a hit to score multiple runs is a success in my book.
  5. I'm happy he's gone. Just watching him after it was decided the Sox were going to take his pitiful fielding/throwing errors off 3rd base and replace him with a more dependable Bregman was enough for me. Then, refusing to make any effort towards helping out at first when Casas went down............. DONE!! Don't know how he was in the locker room but what kind of message does it send to the rest of the team when the supposed "super star " refuses make the effort. Besides, Toro, Mayar, Gonzalez, Narváez and now Anthony have stepped in and are taking advantage of the PT and are making solid contributions. Sox just need to find someone that can evaluate pitching talent and get some good young arms in the fold and quit dealing with worn out IL surgically repaired arms like they've been doing the past decade.
  6. He's been warming up the past few weeks. I think he's getting the confidence back and he's delivered some pretty solid games lately. Hopefully he can continue his resurgence.
  7. Watching Abel the other day he seemed overwhelmed. Might have been an anomaly, but it wasn't very encouraging. From what I've seen, Dobbins has pitched pretty well. Thought the same of Fitts last year but his year so far hasn't panned out like I had hoped. It's crazy how many starting pitchers are on the shelf right now. And with the bullpen the Sox have you really want the starters to go as deep every game they can. Roll the dice every game if you are going to the bullpen early. You can usually expect walks and batting practice with a couple of relievers they send to the bump.
  8. Encouraged with his start against the Nats. Hopefully it's the first of stronger second half. Even though it was the Nats any positive innings is a plus this time of year, especially after the string of really poor starts he's strung together the past 2 months.
  9. Does my heart good to see he's flailing away to a 217 BA in a Giants uni. May not last but his whiney backside needs to be humbled and a continued slump suits me just fine.
  10. It's not a good situation. The pen has been a weak point for a number of years, and it hasn't stepped it up this year either. Partially because the Sox are't getting any length out of their starting staff but seriously, is anyone confident anyone coming in from the bullpen can maintain a lead? I'm not.
  11. He's been consistently horrible, and tonight's game didn't deviate from the past 2 months of having nothing close to what he used to bring to the ballpark . 7 walks in 4 innings giving up only 2 hits but 5 runs in the first. Time to kick this one to the curb and look for their next rehabbing worn out arm to put on the bump. Other than Crochet, is there a more inconsistent inept pitching staff top to bottom in MLB?
  12. Eddington has issues with consistency and as proven to be the equivalent of Angel Hernandez and Laz Diaz. Tough watch every time they put on the face mask and pads.
