Plus two way catchers are so rare, trading Teel basically means giving up on getting plus/plus production from that position for the near future, unless they get really lucky with Narváez. I honestly hope that they just prioritize defense with how bad our defense has been overall recently. I do think that giving up Teel for Crochet was a good move, but I think that we probably just have to accept that it means catcher is going to stay a weakness for the Sox.

With the crowded outfield we have I'm fine with them not being in on TO. Someone who is almost guaranteed to not get far above 100 games and strikes out a ton is also someone I'm ok with moving on from. I'm going to miss seeing his hatchet bat and those bases empty dingers. 31 hr and just 61 rbi is generational bases empty production.

That's great context, watching his sweeper this year especially was a highlight, hopefully he can keep it up.

Definitely, I also think that with the now big 3 coming up, this season's focus really should be respectability, probably Breslow is still looking at 2026 for real contention

Can't really see the vision here from a baseball perspective, obviously he'll strike some guys out but its tough to have such a meltdown prone guy coming in for high leverage situations. I think there are going to be a lot of nights like last year where I just can't feel good about most guys coming in from the bullpen. Also a lot of money for his age. Obviously his domestic violence history sucks to have on the team.

Enjoyed seeing him in Worcester, and he looked good in Boston too.
