  1. Rafeala to the rescue!!!!!!’ Is Rafeala a Skinny version of Sandoval or a watered down version of Betts
  2. Maybe he becomes the one prospect Hang’em Chaim trades away???? Ha ha
  3. The more I see A Castro swing the bat, the more I think he has a future in Boston.
  4. This year’s Red Sox team is easier to watch and more palatable than that disaster of a team from last year.
  5. The team showed a lot of heart by taking the last two games of this series. I am very impressed with them.
  6. Pretty amazing considering our rotation was devastated
  7. Refsynder, Duran, Rafeala, and abreau a relatively young and inexperienced outfield. But defensively light years ahead of what got now
  8. Could abreu and Rafeala be in the Boston outfield next year?
  9. It is amazing we are even this close to the playoffs after everything our starting pitching staff has been through this year!
  10. So it is ok to trade alleged surplus if it is in the lower minors?
  11. Portland won 2 to 1. Jordan with a tater and yorke with 3 hits. Rosier stole his 43rd base. Gambrel threw an amazing 6 innings.
  12. I agree 100 percent. Plus Winkowski
  13. And if we had bogey and the 3 wins that come with him, would we be in the wild card contention now?
  14. We went through about 8 of them this year in Boston. Seems like we need to keep them on hand Hang’em Chaim does not resign bogey and all hell breaks lose with our middle infield
  15. Could we have gotten a quality prospect for Martin at the trade deadline? I think so
  16. I think letting Ben go was a huge mistake! Hang’em Chaim will get more time to prove himself than Ben got and Ben won a World Series
  17. Where is this surplus??
  18. Guys with long swings, Jordan, Kavadas and binelas seem to struggle at Portland.
  19. Those little dances and jumps he does when he strikes people out is fun to watch if your a Red Sox fan, but must be aggravating if you are the opponent
  20. The stat that I would like to see is his ops on fastballs versus breaking balls?
  21. 1b - cassas - average defense and developing bat 2b - story - average defense and potentially nice bat SS - Reyes - average defense and hot bat currently 3b - devers - bad defense and nice bat if he is protected in the lineup. LF - yoshida - bad defense and developing bat. CF - Duvall - decent defense and average bat. RF - verdugo - average defense and average bat. DH - turner - nice bat. C - wong - decent defense and developing bat. Potential Additions for 2024. CF - Rafeala - gold glove defense and weak to mediocre bat C/DH - scott - bad defense and potentially decent bat 3b/DH - dalbec - decent defense and weak bat
  22. I think we need two free agent starters. But we should be looking at guys that will accept one year offers.
  23. I agree. Graduation is definitely affecting our ranking negatively!! Good call on that. Two other things holding us back in the rankings: First: we have some vastly underrated prospects because of the power bias in the rankings: for example rosier, A Castro, and bonaci. They do not have much power. But they hit well, play defense and can steal bags! They barely get noticed outside of diehard Sox fans. Second: the lack of pitching in our system is always going to hold us back in the rankings. We got two guys with stuff that plays. Winkleman and montgero! Also the guy with the best stuff in the system, mata, is injured and before he was injured, he had command and control issues! Most every other pitcher we have is JAG in terms of stuff. Hang’em Chaim is building an incredible pipeline of offense. And I think he is a year ahead of schedule in terms of rebuilding our offensive pipeline. However only he knows what his pitching pipeline philosophy is, and I am not sure even he has a clue what he is doing because right now, it is a mess!!!!
  24. I think Bello had hit a wall and his arm is dragging a bit. But the strength he develops this year should mean he is a stud next year
  25. Very few of his contracts are long term deals. It seems like he is building a cost controlled group of position players, and that he intends to use the farm system to replenish these guys! But I have yet to see a strategy for pitching
