    BTV says it was a massive overpay by the Sox. i don't know if he had options, so he may have been a DFA candidate had Brez not overpaid.

    since June 3rd, the Sox have the best record in the AL and second best in MLB behind the Brewers, who went from 6 games back of the first place Cubs to 3 up. Red Sox have gone from 10 games back of first place Yankems to 3 games back of Toronto. kudos to Cora and Brez.     it was more like a $214M salary dump as they took on Jordan Hicks and his $36M salary dump.

    Breslow and Henry are paying Sandoval $5.5M this year and $12.5M next year. so...essentially, they are paying him $18M for one year. absolutely f***ing insane. and this is the same owner that traded Sale for a bag of balls because he was tired of paying him not to pitch -even though he was perfectly healthy when he was traded. unreal.

    this is a team that needs pitching. now. not an oufielder (really) in A ball that is years away. or a draft pick that is years away at best. or a pitcher in A ball that is also years away.

    Priester is 9-0 in his last 11 starts. i was stunned when he was traded. just a horrible move by Breslow.
