  1. there is no denying his past, but lets use a term you and other so often use to disparage Jarren Duran -declining. Suarez is 34 years old and i think it's safe to say that his best years are behind him. now....with that said, i wouldn't be against him if we don't get Polanco. my infield/outfield would be Narvaez at 2, Alonso at 3, Story at 4, Bregman (or Suarez) at 5, Mayer at 6, Duran at 7, Rafaela at 8 and Abreu at 9. IF we don't sign Bregman then i'd wan't Polanco at 4, Mayer at 5 and Story at 6.
  2. i'm just not that high on Suarez. i know he had a good season with AZ but that seemed to end after he was traded. during his time with the Mariners (53 games & 220 PAs) he slashed .189/.225/.428/.682 yuk. i'd be fine with Polo at 2B.
  3. Sandoval is the epitome of the Sox front office strategy. throw some money at some loser to rehab and then HOPE he does something.
  4. my expectations as well. or some really old dude, like Merrill Kelly. funny they gave up on Pivetta last year, but he goes to San Diego for relatively cheap deal and is one of the top pitchers in the league. his 5.3 bWAR. ranks 7th in the league, one spot ahead of Dodgers ace Yamamoto. how does he go from cream of the crap to cream of the crop?
  5. The way his season ended, I’m thinking his arm is toast. Good riddance.
  6. but these same tightwad motherf***ers will give an injured pitcher that won't throw a single pitch $10 million.
  7. my expectations are so low, that i fully expect Brez to be "interested" in all of the best players available but sign none. or, if he does sign someone, it will be an injured pitcher.
  8. if Brez thinks this guy is someone worth pursuing, i truly wonder about his judgement. the guy is horrendous.
  9. i wouldn't give up Casas for nothing, unless he is needed to get us "over the top" for a TOTR pitcher. i know he has little to no value, but he is cheap and i can just see him bouncing back the same way Chris Sale did after going to Atlanta.
  10. not that i'm aware of.
  11. the way the Dodgers are built (and i by no means think they'll stand pat this offseason) they are likely to play in a number of World Series over the next decade. meanwhile....John Henry is somewhere patting himself on the back for making the playoffs for the first time in 4 years.
  12. yeah...because everyone wants to get the trophy for FEWEST DOLLARS SPENT PER WIN. just shows you how that POS thinks. for 2025, the Dodgers spent second most per win at $3.76M. Mets had the most at $4.11M, Blue Jays spent $2.715M and Henry's Sox spent $2.24M per win. Maybe he should sell the Sox to somebody that gives a s*** and he can buy the Marlins back. They didn't win s***, but they only spent $858K per win last year. which, i'm absolutely sure, gave him a big ol' geezer boner.
  13. unless you're Henry/ Brez, then you take garbage in return for guys like Devers and Sale.
  14. are you John Henry or Chime Bloom?
  15. that is crazy. i liked the stat that no team that had swept an LCS had ever beaten a team that went 7 games in the LCS. and the overall record for those teams was like 4-19. maybe there is something to the big layoff and losing your rhythm.
  16. i'm kinda odd so no surprise there. i'd even take Logan Evans in lieu of Hancock for Casas. Assuming we sign Alonso. Colt Emerson's #1 prospect ranking is well-deserved. i was a bit skeptical before he arrived at Arkansas, but no longer.
  17. the A's have a catcher in AAA named Daniel Susac who is blocked by Shea Langeliers that i wouldn't mind as a backup behind Narvaez.
  18. that's what i'm afraid of.
  19. i attended over 100 baseball games this year -69 Travelers in Little Rock, AR (i have season tickets) along with Rainers games in OKC, Sugarland, ABQ, El Paso, Round Rock & Las Vegas and a Seattle series in KC. so yeah, i know exactly who they are.
  20. i'd love to see Emerson in a REd Sox uni. if the Sox could sign Alonso, i'd do it in a second.
  21. i'd be happier if "the f***ing stiff" hadn't traded Devers for garbage.
  22. after trading Devers, the Sox were 24th in home runs -of any kind. nice job Brez.
  23. IMHO, this has been a problem for a very long time.
  24. if that happens, then you can count on watching the playoffs without the Red Sox. book it.
