DD has been very, very successful wherever he's been, so i'd give him the benefit of the doubt. and i know he would have done better than the idiot Henry hired to replace him.

i'd choose not firing a guy that just won you 3 straight ALEast titles and a WS before having an off year and finishing 3rd.

i hate seeing the Sox finishing last no matter how many recent championships they have, but the rings do lessen the "pain" a bit. what particularly pisses me off is JH firing a GM that had taken the team from two consecutive last place finishes in 14 & 15, wins 3 straight ALEast titles, has an off year and finishes 3rd and replaces him with a dithering f***ing moron that finishes last in 20, 22 and 23. f***ing idiocy on Henry's part. i'm not going to bash Brez but he'd best add some quality pitching or it's going to be ANOTHER last place finish next year.

absolutely meaningless.....due to MLB's definition of a Win, which i think is absurd. there should be a way to decide which pitcher gets a "win" rather than the ******** definition they have now. -
Emerson Hancock too. He absolutely dominated this year in AA. Too bad he’s not with the Sox.

I watched him quite a bit in Double-A this year. He was good. Good enough that Seattle didn’t even bother trying him at AAA before calling him up. I’m excited about him pitching for the Sox.

i agree on unloading Yoshida. That's a ton of money for very little production that we could desperately use on pitching.

i don't know about Red but Breslow was not even my Top 10 of who i thought might get the job. and really, i'm not sure how much it matters who it is if it's the same dysfunctional, haphazard, half-assed FO/ownership approach. -
i remember the '75 series but it didn't hurt anything like '78. and yeah, Buckner's Blunder crushed my soul as well. 2004 was the Greatest Day Ever.

some thought Oct 2, 1949 was the worst day in Red Sox history after Joe McCarthy pulled Kinder for Mel Parnell. i wasn't around then but Oct 2, 1978 was the worst for me.

yeah, but their defense is the exact opposite of the Red Sox. i think the Dbacks and Rangers are ranked 1-2 in defense. maybe, just maybe good D has something to do with success. don't tell Max though.
