yep. when you're biggest signing after another last place finish is the pitcher who absolutely sucked the last half of last season and led the league in HR allowed, well....it's no wonder fans are pissed.
and why is that exactly? the Dodgers culture and commitment to winning versus a greedy, tightfisted, egomaniac, f***stick like Henry whose only concern is building his FSG "empire"?
can someone explain to me how the Dodgers only take a $2M hit on Ohtani's $70M salary. i know it's "deferred" but what the hell? is this a Bobby Bonilla deal where they pay him $2M for the next four hundred years?
amazing how the Dodgers can afford our stupid contracts AND all the high-priced superstars on their roster but Henry acts like he's down to his last million.
the spending is just part of it. making better decisions is a bigger part, IMHO. the roster construction, and many of their signings have just been awful since DD was fired (not saying DD didn't make some bad decisions too).
this is recent history. i was stating that drawing new fans is important and the best way to do that is by winning. people don't want to be associated with losers. the Red Sox finish last enough and all us old guys die off, they won't be able to draw flies.
