    since 2000 Cashman has spent 4.66 billion in payroll for 1 championship, he keeps paying for certain type players that he thinks are tailor made for cigar box Yankee Stadium, doesn't work, 324 million for Cole is the laughing stock of a lot of moderators, he's lucky he's working for a cub scout who is not that sharp who was not his father's choice to take over the reins but he is the subject of a series of events, Houston is going to their 4th series in 6 years, you're going on 1 for 23 Mr. Cashman, you love hype and big flash, doesn't work

    it's all moot, let's enjoy the post season with competitive baseball and be concerned with playing better and getting out of the cellar although it won't be easy and take some heads up maneuvering and it's not always because we can't spend, a lot of these teams spend less then we do, it's called leadership at all levels, that's true in all sports

    The Mets have two of the best pitchers in baseball, Scherzer was out for 7 weeks the beginning of the season, he was out again in August, DeGrpm didn't even start pitching until August, this team won 101 games second highest in their history and tied for second highest in the National league, field managers and general managers have to work together, every body dislikes Showalter but he has a great baseball mind, in the history of MLB only 4 managers have taken 4 different teams to the post season, Billy Martin, Dusty Baker, Davey Johnson and Buck Showalter who was also named manager of the year 3 times, it's a good thing he's unimpressive,

    we can only hope, but you can't improve if you do not recognize your weakness, for one, the Phillies dumped Mr ego Girardi and they made the post season, so did Toronto changed horses in mid stream, Hyde motivated the worst team in the division and they were hot the second half, the Rays well you can give Kevin Cash a little league team and he will have a winning season, face reality and injuries are no excuse you have to work around them, every post season team has had injuries, we are the only ones who cry, championship no but we could have been respectable

    Excellent summation, especially when all the teams around us improved with mid season changes, we went backwards, people can't accept it but our management all around is brutal

    Exactly, instead of hiring Bloom they should have hired the Rays scouts who are very good at spotting young players and give Kevin Cash some ammunition to work with and he is a master of manipulation by understanding each players capabilities, reminds me of a great manager who could do that, Billy Martin. managed two teams in every game he was in

    I have been saying for months there is no motivation or morale boosting on this team, in any sport it starts with the front office and management and we are anemic, the past doesn't count if you can not try to maintain being competitive, we are less than competitive, we are embarrassing. Blue Jays improved, Orioles improved, low paying Rays are always steady and we went backwards, why, nobody to crack the whip with the ability to improve players attitude or give them good help when they need a boost

    I hope so, can't win every year but you can put a decent product on the field for enjoyable baseball, we do not have that now, it is reflecting with a lot of players who have no desire,

    in the past 12 years the last place finishers were, Yankees 0 Toronto 1 Rays 1 Baltimore 4 Red Sox 5 plus we got this year last place locked in, I guess no other teams have injuries which makes you automatically last, a real joke

    outstanding fielder, I remember one game I believe against Baltimore when he was chasing the record and the team was in a pennant hunt, they needed wins and with a runner on he bunted to advance the runner rather than swing away for himself, he was a team player misaligned because the public wanted Mantle to be the one to break the record but he got hurt and missed time, give credit where it's deserved

    Maris was a gentlemen and a shy kid who had trouble dealing with the media, I gave him all the credit he deserved
