  1. it was a good spot for him, a swing of the bat wouldn't beat us, Brasier safety net, fireman of the year
  2. our guys are really trying hard if we can find a way to get some help, get rid of the dead beats and fill a few gaps we may have something that's above average. It takes a sharp GM to do this with an eye for players and that's where we are handicapped
  3. it can take up to a whole season of pitching after TJ surgery to get your form back, TJ himself went through this and wound up with 289 career wins, give Sale a chance not the type of player who will dog it
  4. it's called the Robles effect, Cora loves these type of guys, don't get aggravated just sit back and laugh
  5. there are those who believe this team did not start improving last year along with the Jays who started when they changed managers and the team with the lowest payroll and lowest fan support and no long term super stars, it's not always about how much you spend
  6. There is no management on both ends, time will tell but good teams will eventually show up, all the teams in our division improved starting last year except, take a guess
  7. they couldn't hit him with an ironing board
  8. batting averages are anemic, hanging with these guys is brutal, if they can't be helped then replace, upcoming players can't be any worse, doesn't look like there is any help for some players, you can't depend on the same players to bail you out
  9. de ja vu all over again, right yogi, don't get yourself aggravated it's a long way to the end of this year with a lfeless team
  10. as long as the pitcher starts his move before the clock runs out he is not restricted to where he throws it
  11. really felt good to win one like this instead of losing which was our pattern, there's confidence now, if we can get pitching straightened out we could be interesting,i think sale will be ok if he doesn't pull something, hasn't done meaningful pitching in 3 years, give him support
  12. Try anything, it can't get any worse but some idiots don't like to be told especially when they are in charge, tomorrow's attitude will tell a lot, a whole winter and this is what we have, the whole division won their opening day except guess who? I'll wait
  13. I'm not sticking up for Bloom because I can't stand him but maybe he tried to move them and they have no value, not all other GM's are as weak as ours, bite the bullet and cut them, replacements can't be any worse, what's the difference who loses
  14. New season with a lot of new players, I'm just hoping for decent baseball not little league play, maybe we can get to 500 and stay out of the cellar, every team has major injuries but they work around it. Good luck to the Red Sox and let's not be embarrassed.
  15. Back in the day there were a lot of complete games before 5/6 inning pitchers were common, and Martin had no bullpen with Oakland in those years
  16. he hit Piazza square on the head and Piazza went right down, it's on You Tube, go watch
  17. Piazza got hit in the head and was on the ground, he homered off Clemens earlier and it was definite retaliation, the incidents are on You Tube if you want to watch but don't say it didn't happen. Clemens is a creep
  18. yes it did happen, I watched that game then he threw a broken bat at him running to first, Clemens is a creep, should never make the hall, when he was being interviewed for steroids a reporter asked him if this would hurt his chances for the hall of fame, his exact answer was, I don't give a rats ass about the hall of fame, that sound bite is out there and the pitch hit Piazza on the helmet, being a great pitcher doesn't make you a better person, he's a creep
  19. scares the hell out of me, I never forgot Tony C and I went ballistic when Clemens deliberately threw at Piazza's head, a real low life move
  20. very well said, they are satisfied with mediocrity, another site had all Bloom's moves since he got here and it looked like Custers last stand but people accept his inept style and make excuses for an upcoming weak season, I gave up. Devers at his age I would play one more year and write my own ticket with a 4 year opt out and control the next 10 to 15 years
  21. Plain and simple, we want good baseball and we are not going to win every year but can be respectable, we have taken over the honor of worse team in the division while others have improved and passed us, Tampa has a better scouting system and much better all around management and a smaller budget and no excuses, they get the most out of what they have to work with, their weakness is a lousy fan base Tampa is not a baseball town
  22. give Bloom the credit he deserves, he did get VAZ a ring
  23. The bat boy is safe to return
