I disagree, this was a soft spot in the schedule IMO. I certainly include the orioles as a soft spot as well as cincy and the mariners. And now the tigers.
This coming stretch over the next 30 days or so could determine the sox fate this season.
The sox have mostly done what they needed to do over the very soft spot in the schedule. But aside from a brief respite against the cubbies, the next month is a brutal stretch.
I think the comparison to the 1998 team is for 2 reason. 1) They are both Yankee teams 2) the present team is on a pace closer to the 1998 team than the 2018 sox team.
