Bonds was the greatest ball player I have ever seen. Far and away.. not even close. Fielding, base running, his discipline and power at the plate. Dude was RIDICULOUS.

The Yankees used them more than any other team in MLB. That’s why people bring it up when discussing their five chips since 1996. Jeffrey Maier (the toast of NY) didn’t hurt either.

JD looks like he threw in the towel with his last at bat... then he looked annoyed. The going thru the motions trash is becoming infectious and that is a coaching issue. I mentioned this in the last game thread but Cora needs to take some heat for this.

I stand by my initial statement, since the MLB commissioner does. That 3 run home run by Jim Leyritz vs the Braves was big wasn’t it? Turned the whole series around didn’t it? If we only knew what Jimmy was up to at the time...

Wrong. Manny was caught with Roids, Yes. Ortiz tested positive for a banned substance that was legal in 2003 but, not in 2009 when the results were made public. If he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he would have been suspended.. even Rob Manfred confirmed this. A far cry from the 27 Yankees that have ties to Steroids since 1996.. far an away the most of any one MLB team.

Skanks won a ton of Chips in the Mantle era, great.. good for them. The last five that they won were completely rounded the EFF out from Jim Leyritz, Pettitte to Clemens, Giambi, A-Roid and Cano. Heck, even Denny Neagle was caught... factor in the non sense with Jeffrey Maier... a kid gives Jeter a HR vs Baltimore, CLEARLY... and he is the toast of NY, he’s on Late night with David Letterman and on the Today show... it’s comical. And from the look of most of the current Yankees, with their bloated heads, old habits die hard.

With respect, there are plenty of Red Sox boards as well as Yankee boards.. you would probably have much more fun with Yankee fans. You stick out like a sore thumb on this game day thread... but you already knew that. No one here wants to read about how great the Yankees look this season.

It’s ok, NY doesn’t have much besides the Yankees. The Rangers? 1940, 1994 The Knicks? 1970 1973??? The Jets? 1968 The Mets??? 1969 1986 Let’s not pretend that all NY teams are successful.... far from it.

Funny how most of the Yankee players look jacked up.. including the pitchers. Probably more than any other squad. Sanchez “swinging the bat like Mike Piazza.” Says it all.
